NBA Games Betting Odds: Wednesday Features Mostly Home Favorites

Seven of Eight Games Favor Hosts on NBA Odds

NBA Lines Laying Points on Six of Eight Home Teams

Of the eight NBA games this Wednesday, six of the home teams are expected to win though with varying degrees. The Boston Celtics and Sacramento Kings are the largest favorites per the NBA games’ betting odds with Denver, Memphis, New York, and Washington all expected by a moderate to a slight degree. As for the visitors, Milwaukee and Minnesota are the ones dissenting from the odds.

Lopsided Matchups in Boston and Sacramento

The Celtics and King have a few things in common. This Wednesday, they’re favored by at least 8.5 points on the NBA odds. But in terms of the general stats, they are two of the NBA’s most prolific offenses. Boston leads the NBA in offensive rating (117.1) and Sacramento is fourth (115.9).

As home teams, they both score even more with offenses in the 120s. That’s why over 65 percent of their home games go over the total.

Boston takes on New Orleans, which will be without a trio of key players: Zion Williamson (hamstring), Brandon Ingram (toe), and Herbert Jones (back). The Pels are also just 3-6 against the spread (ATS) in their last nine games versus Boston.

The Kings face Houston, one of the worst teams on the road at 4-16. The Rockets also get blown out routinely and have 17 losses by 10 or more points. The total is 239, which is the highest for the night.

Not All Home Teams are Made the Same

As for the other home teams, bettor beware. The Knicks are terrible in Madison Square Garden with a 7-12-2 record against the spread (ATS). As a favorite, that’s just 6-8-1 ATS. They face a classic rival in Indiana, which is currently a team that is 9-7 ATS as a road underdog.

Memphis and Denver are in better positions. These Western powers are covering at least 58.8 percent of their home games as favorites. The Grizzlies should also have star point guard Ja Morant (thigh) back in the lineup. They take on the Spurs who have lost six straight road games and are 8-11 ATS as an underdog away from home.

‘Golden State, Phoenix is a sizable underdog on the NBA games betting odds for a good reason.’

As for Denver, the Nuggets face an injury-riddled Suns team. Phoenix’s star backcourt of Chris Paul (hip) and Devin Booker (groin) are out along with the Camerons: Payne (foot) and Johnson (knee).

Starting center Deandre Ayton (ankle) is also on the injury list. Coming from a game against Golden State, Phoenix is a sizable underdog on the NBA games betting odds for a good reason.

And on the flip side, the Pistons are underdogs on their own court against the Timberwolves. Detroit is on the second night of a back-to-back and just got destroyed by Philadelphia. This team is just 2-7 when playing with no rest. However, the Pistons are surprisingly effective against Western Conference opponents at 11-8-1 ATS. Minnesota is just 5-10 ATS against the East.

Toss-Up Games Between Rivals

The last team “favored” to win is Washington over Chicago. This is pretty much a pick’em along with the Milwaukee-Atlanta game. The Wizards are just 1-4 in their last five games against Chicago.

Their NBA injuries this week will once again be a critical factor here with the likes of DeMar DeRozan (quad) potentially out for Chicago while Kristaps Porzingis (ribs) could join Bradley Beal (hamstring) on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, the NBA games’ betting odds lean on Milwaukee over Atlanta. The Bucks are just 1-4 in their last five games in Atlanta as Khris Middleton (knee) and Serge Ibaka (personal) remain sidelined. Atlanta is largely healthy though starting center Clint Capela (calf) is hurt.

The Bucks have the worst offense on the road (104.8) while the Hawks have the fourth-worst (110.2) at home. Expect this game to be a low-scoring one as the total suggests.
