Timberwolves Howling for Blood

Something feels different about the Timberwolves this year. We’ve seen good stretches from them before, but never in recent memory have they put together a season quite like this. They’ve cemented themselves as one of the greatest defensive teams of the last many years, and over the last ten games have gotten themselves into the top ten in offensive rating.

With offensive juggernaut Karl-Anthony Towns out, the Wolves have somehow improved offensively, and this is with Anthony Edwards shooting horrendously over the last few games.

Edwards is only shooting 40.4% from the field in Minnesota’s last five games (they’ve gone 4-1 in those contests) and is averaging only 21 points per game in those contests. He averages over 26 points per game on the season.

Veteran point guard Mike Conley Jr. has picked up his game during Edwards’s struggles. Conley has hit his points + assists over in five of the Wolves last six games. After sitting Wednesday night for rest, we expect Conley to come out fresh on Friday against the Suns.

The Suns are bottom ten in the league at points and assist allowed to point guards, so take a look at Conley’s prop bets Friday for some possible value.

Suns Shining Bright

The Suns are putting things together. Currently surviving one of the toughest late-season schedules, they have chipped away at their Western Conference foes, to get themselves to the sixth seed. They’ve won six of their last eight, including solid wins against the Pelicans, Nuggets, and Cavaliers on Wednesday night.

Devin Booker has been on a tear the last few games, and his offensive explosion is giving the Suns the juice they need to have real hopes for a playoff run.

After two lackluster offensive performances (following three straight 30+ point games), Booker bounced back with a HUGE 52-point game against the Pelicans and a 40-piece against the Cavs. Booker has averaged 28.3 points, 7.4 assists, and 5.3 rebounds in the Sun’s last ten games.

Part of Booker’s scoring success of late has come from an increase in three-point attempts. Booker is only averaging 6.1 three-point attempts this season, but over the last five games we’ve seen nine, ten, and 16 attempt games.

The Timberwolves allow the third least opponent made three-pointers this season, so if oddsmakers have adjusted Booker’s three-point makes prop too high, take a look at his under. Booker only made two threes in Phoenix’s first game against Minnesota this year.

That Playoff Feeling

Timberwolves vs Suns betting odds opened Suns +3, total 219. Due to the importance of this game (specifically for the Suns), we think this could be a defensive battle with a playoff feel.

The Suns have scored at least 122 points in each of their last three games, but Minnesota hasn’t allowed more than 120 points to an opponent since March 1st. Take a look at the under as well as some player prop under in this game, it will be a war.
