Three Wins, Three Losses
The Knicks have followed up their end-of-March three-game winning streak with a three-game losing streak. The Knicks fell short in a close game against the Miami Heat, losing 109-99 on Tuesday.
Despite a valiant comeback effort in the fourth quarter, where they erased a 16-point deficit and even tied the game, a clutch 3-pointer by Terry Rozier sealed the win for Miami. Donte DiVincenzo led the Knicks with 31 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Rozier’s hot shooting night.
This loss is particularly frustrating for the Knicks considering it came against a divisional rival and puts their playoff positioning in jeopardy.
The Orlando Magic, who were idle, actually leapfrogged the Knicks into the coveted fourth seed in the East thanks to their head-to-head record. With Julius Randle still out with a shoulder NBA injury, the Knicks will need to find a way to win games if they want to secure a strong NBA playoff spot.
The Knicks leader and star Jalen Brunson struggled shooting on Tuesday, but has been distributing the ball well of late. It may be a result of the lack of foul calls he’s been getting, so he is turning to passing.
He has only notched less than six assists twice in the Knicks last ten games and has hit the over on his assists prop in six of his last eight games.
Thibs on Jalen Brunson: “Well he’s gettin fouled. He gettin fouled. He’s gettin fouled. He’s gettin fouled. He’s gettin fouled. He’s gettin fouled.”

Sabonis’s Historic Season
Domantas Sabonis has been shutting the doubters up this NBA season. He is coming off a historic month where he averaged 18.6 points, 15.1 boards, 7.8 assists, and 1.8 combined steals and blocks while shooting 54.9% from the floor!
Even though Sabonis’s amazing play, he has been hitting his unders often over his last five games. Before Tuesday’s game, he had gone under on his points and rebounds props for four games in a row.
The Knicks have a strong defense and are the best in the league at limiting scoring and rebounds from centers. We think Sabonis could have difficulty putting up big numbers against the Knicks. So, taking him under may be a decent bet.

The Kings had a big win on Tuesday night defeating the Los Angeles Clippers 109-95. Sabonis led the way with a monster double-double of 22 points, 20 rebounds, and nine assists.
This win puts the Kings just one game behind sixth place in the Western Conference and strengthens their position to avoid the play-in tournament. The Kings’ defense was impressive as they held the Clippers under 100 points. It is only the fifth time the Clippers scored this few.
This Game Could Get Defensive
The Kings’ defense has been incredible lately. Their defensive rating is the fifth-best in the league in the last ten NBA games. The Knicks sit right behind them at sixth in that span, so expect a defensive battle on Thursday.
With the total for this game set at 216, we believe there is a decent chance for these defensive teams to punch it out and hit the under.
The Kings are 13-22-2 on over/unders when they are on the road, and the Knicks are 12-26 on over/unders at home.
The spread of Knicks -3.5 seems reasonable with the homecourt advantage of MSG. But these NBA teams do seem to be trending in opposite directions.
