Sports Bettors All Over Louisville for Saturday’s ACC Championship

Louisville vs Florida State ACC Odds Moving In Louisville's Direction

The Florida State Seminoles have been the talk of the college football world this week.

Despite being 12-0, college football fans and analysts worldwide hope Florida State doesn’t win the ACC Championship Game. It’s not because anyone has an agenda on the Seminoles. It’s strictly because the Seminoles are without their star quarterback, Jordan Travis, for the rest of the year and likely wouldn’t have much success playing Georgia or Michigan in the semifinal of the College Football Playoffs.

While that might be true, if the Seminoles finish the college football season 13-0 and win the ACC Championship, the College Football Committee can’t even consider keeping the Seminoles out of the College Football Playoffs.

You can’t tell a team that goes 13-0 in a Power-5 conference that they’re not a top-four team in the nation.

Therefore, the bets are pouring in on the Louisville Cardinals. The Cardinals began the week as 3.5-point underdogs. However, that number has crashed down to 2.5, with Louisville at +2.5 at +100.

Meanwhile, the total has dipped from 50.5 earlier this week to 47.5.

Below, we’ll talk about all the Louisville vs Florida State ACC odds changes as we get closer to Saturday’s contest.

Louisville vs Florida State ACC Odds

The Louisville Cardinals were sitting at +6.5 on the Sunday night after Jordan Travis sustained a season-ending injury. The star quarterback was the heart and soul of the team. Therefore, more and more bettors became more comfortable with selecting Louisville with the points.

By Monday, November 20, Louisville dropped to +5.5.

After Florida State’s final game against Florida, bettors noticed that the Seminoles’ offense wasn’t the same without Travis. The line dropped to +4.5 (-115) and quickly fell to +3.5 later that Sunday.

By Monday afternoon, the line against the spread went all the way to +2.5 (+100) for the Cardinals.

On the other hand, the total has had some crazy line movement. When lines were released on Sunday, November 19, the total was at 49.5. However, by Saturday, November 25, the total dropped to 48.5 but quickly picked up steam on Sunday, when the total went from 48.5 to as high as 51.5.

Eventually, sharps and other bettors agreed that the 51.5 line was a bit high. The total dropped from 48.5 to 47.5 on Wednesday, and it’s been that number ever since.

Finally, on that same Sunday, November 19, you could’ve got Louisville at around +190. Now, the best line is around +110.

Louisville’s Bowl Projections

With two losses, the Cardinals can’t make the College Football Playoff, even if they win on Saturday for the ACC Championship.

But they’re likely playing for a New Year’s Six Bowl Game spot.

Most analysts’ projections still have Louisville playing Ohio State in the Orange Bowl on December 30 at 4:00 pm ET.

Other analysts have Louisville playing against an SEC team like Alabama. Either way, it’s looking like Louisville will land in the Orange Bowl and play in a New Year’s Six Bowl, even with a loss on Saturday.

Don’t Disrespect Florida State

It would be so wrong for the College Football Playoff Committee to omit the Seminoles from making the College Football Playoff with a perfect 13-0 record.

The Seminoles would be underdogs against any of the teams in the College Football Playoff. But just because a team loses one player doesn’t mean you can take away everything that Florida State Seminoles has earned.

This is a team game. The defense has played absolutely incredible in most second halves this season to keep the perfect season alive.

If Florida State wins the ACC Championship, they should make the College Football Playoff no matter what happens in all the other games.

Do what’s right.

Florida State’s Championship Odds

The National Championship odds include only nine teams. Oddsmakers are suggesting that only nine teams can make the College Football Playoff this season.

Those teams include Michigan, Georgia, Oregon, Texas, Alabama, Washington, Florida State, Ohio State and Iowa.

Michigan and Georgia are the favorites with +190 odds. Meanwhile, Oregon is at +500, with Texas’ chances being +900 as fourth on the list. Then there’s Alabama at +1000 odds and Washington at +1800.

After Washington is Florida State, holding a +2800 chance of winning this season’s championship.

Only Ohio State and Iowa are listed below them.

Therefore, the sportsbooks don’t believe in Florida State as much as everyone else. But at +2800, as favorites against Louisville, you’re getting some excellent value on the Seminoles. The Seminoles will likely have to beat Louisville to become a top-four college football team. Those odds won’t be the same once they’re inside the College Football Playoff.

The Seminoles are also sitting at -140 to make the playoffs, while the “No” odds are at +110.

The Florida State Seminoles lead the ACC football standings. They’ve also got a higher probability of earning a win on Saturday per the NCAA Football odds.

The Seminoles have blown away teams with their NCAAF scores and odds. The Louisville vs Florida State ACC odds are intriguing.

We still think Louisville will win. However, the value in Florida State winning the National Championship is still outstanding. Think about last year, when TCU earned a National Championship appearance. Anyone with TCU could’ve hedged out and guaranteed plenty of profit. You can consider doing the same with Florida State.
