Cooper Sets Cleveland Record For Receiving Yards
Amari Cooper has had some memorable games in his NFL career. But he had one for the ages on Sunday in Cleveland’s 36-22 victory over Houston. The Amari Cooper stats show 11 receptions for 265 yards and two touchdowns. The Browns threw to him 15 times in the game and all 11 receptions went for first downs or touchdowns. His 265 yards set a Cleveland team record, breaking the 261 receiving yards of Josh Gordon, set on Dec. 1, 2013. Cooper had a 53-yard reception on the first play from scrimmage and a 75-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter on the way to his record-setting day.
College Career
Cooper enjoyed three seasons with the Alabama Crimson Tide, setting a number of school records despite leaving for the NFL a year early. As a freshman in 2012, Cooper had 59 receptions for 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns. His numbers tailed off a little in his sophomore season, where he had 45 receptions for 736 yards and four scores. He had a 99-yard reception for a touchdown.
But the Amari Cooper stats in his junior season took things to a new level. Cooper finished with 124 receptions for 1,727 yards and 16 touchdowns, all school records. The 124 receptions were an SEC record. He finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting. As a result, he was selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders.

As a rookie, Cooper had 72 receptions for 1,070 yards and 6 touchdowns, following that up with 83 receptions for 1,153 yards and five touchdowns in his second season. He was selected to play in the Pro Bowl both seasons.
In his third season, Cooper missed several games and had just 48 receptions for 680 yards and seven touchdowns. After starting off the 2018 season with 22 receptions through the first six games, Cooper was traded to the Dallas Cowboys for a first-round draft pick.
Dallas Cowboys
Cooper had 53 receptions for 725 yards and six touchdowns in nine games with the Cowboys. That earned him another trip to the Pro Bowl. For 2018, the combined Amari Cooper stats show 75 receptions for 1,005 yards and seven touchdowns.
Cooper had over 1,000 receiving yards for the Cowboys in 2019 and 2020, setting a career high with 92 receptions in 2020. Cooper missed several games in 2021 after testing positive for COVID-19. He still finished the season with 68 receptions for 865 yards and eight touchdowns.
He was traded to the Cleveland Browns on March 16, 2022, for a fifth-round pick in the NFL Draft and a swap of sixth-round picks.
Cleveland Browns
Cooper’s first season with Cleveland was productive, as he had 78 receptions for 1,160 yards. His nine touchdowns were a career high.
Through 15 games in 2023, Cooper has 72 receptions for 1,250 yards and five TDs.
For his NFL career, the Amari Cooper stats show 667 receptions for 9,486 yards. He has scored 60 touchdowns. He’s also appeared in four playoff games, where he has 21 receptions for 245 yards. Cooper has scored two postseason touchdowns.
