Will Seattle Have Top Running Back Available For Thursday Night Matchup?

A pair of NFC contenders will be squaring off in a Thursday night game, with the Seahawks vs Cowboys NFL odds listing the host Cowboys as the eight-point favorite.

This is the first meeting between these NFL teams since 2020 and the first regular-season matchup in Arlington since 2017.

Dallas has won three games in a row, and when looking at the NFC standings, the Cowboys are two games behind Philadelphia in the NFC East Division race. Seattle has lost two games in a row is trailing San Francisco by two games in the NFC West.

Offensive lineman Abraham Lucas, running back Kenneth Walker, and receiver Dareke Young are all questionable for Seattle.

Seattle’s Offense Is Still In Neutral

Seattle has dropped its last three road games and has just two touchdowns over those contests, and that could factor into the Seahawks vs Cowboys NFL odds.

The Seahawks are 21st in the NFL in total offense, 17th in passing offense, and 26th in rushing this season.

The recent injury to running back Kenneth Walker hasn’t helped with the running game, and injuries to the offensive line have made things more difficult. Walker, who has missed the last two games, has 613 rushing yards and is averaging just 4.1 yards per carry this NFL season after rushing for 1050 yards in 15 games as a rookie.

Seattle ranks near the bottom of the league in rushing attempts, and after a breakthrough season by quarterback Geno Smith, he hasn’t been doing enough to carry the offense.

Seattle is 6-13-1 against the spread in its last 20 games.

Cowboys Thriving At Home

Dallas is one of three teams in the NFL still undefeated at home. The Cowboys have outscored their opponents 205-60 at home. Keep that in mind when looking at the Seahawks vs Cowboys NFL odds.

Quarterback Dak Prescott has completed 78% of his passes as he has thrown for 1555 with 15 touchdown passes and two interceptions.

Leading receiver CeeDee Lamb has 44 catches for 541 yards and five touchdowns in the home wins against the New York Jets, New England Patriots, the Los Angeles Rams, the New York Giants, and Washington Commanders.

Dallas has covered against the Las Vegas odds in five of its last six games.

Last Meeting

DK Metcalf had 110 yards and a touchdown in a 38-31 home victory. A Dak Prescott touchdown pass and then a field goal helped Dallas erase a 15-point deficit.

A 29-yard TD catch by Metcalf with 1:47 gave Seattle the lead. The Seahawks covered as 5.5-point favorites by the NFL point spreads as a Prescott pass was intercepted in the end zone with 14 seconds left to play.

The game went over the 57-point total on a touchdown pass from Prescott to Michael Gallup.

Seahawks vs Cowboys Betting Preview

Seattle has turned the ball over twice in each of its last three road games.

Both teams are 5-3 against NFC teams this season.

Dallas is 5-0 against the spread in home games this season. The Cowboys were favored in each of those games.

Seattle has covered in three of its five road games.

The Seahawks are 2-3 against the NFL betting odds as an underdog this season and 2-2 as the road underdog.

Dallas is tied for the NFL lead, with seven of its games going over the total. Five of Seattle’s games landed over the total. The total is set at 46 for this NFL matchup.

When looking at the NFL scores today, Dallas leads the NFL in scoring at 31.6 points per game. The Cowboys have the most points in the first quarter, rank second in scoring in the second quarter, and are third in points scored in the fourth quarter.

Seattle has struggled to close games out as the Seahawks are 22nd in the NFL in points scored in the fourth quarter of games and 26th in points allowed in the final quarter. Seattle has been outscored 17-0 in the fourth quarter in the last two games and has been outscored 40-0 in the fourth quarter of its five losses this season.

Dallas has failed to cover in each of its last four meetings with Seattle. It is hard to read too much into that trend, however, since the teams do not play on a yearly basis.

Four of Seattle’s last five games, as well as five of the last seven games at Dallas have finished over the total.
