Donovan Peoples Jones Stats: Browns Receiver Getting Better
Cleveland Wideout Sees Stats Climb Each Year
The Donovan Peoples-Jones stats show a wide receiver coming off a breakthrough season. But he probably isn’t finished showing improvement. Playing a full season with Deshaun Watson should help his numbers. He’s become a solid two-way threat who can beat you on offense and also chip in with a significant punt return.
Peoples Jones received a lot of hype during his high school career. Catching 17 touchdowns in your senior season tends to get noticed by college recruiters. But he elected to stay close to home and signed with the Michigan Wolverines.
In three seasons at Michigan, the Donovan Peoples-Jones stats show 103 receptions for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns. He added a pair of touchdowns on punt returns. Despite a solid career at Michigan, Peoples-Jones wasn’t selected until the sixth round by the Cleveland Browns in the 2020 NFL Draft.

It took Peoples-Jones a few games to show he could play at a high level against NFL players. But he made some big plays in his rookie season despite limited playing time. He caught the game-winning touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals in the final minute on Oct. 25, 2020. He also had a 75-yard touchdown reception during the year. Peoples-Jones finished with 14 receptions for 304 yards and two touchdowns.
In 2021, Peoples Jones had 34 receptions for 597 yards and three touchdowns. He also had 12 punt returns for 95 yards. But the Cleveland Browns standings showed just an 8-9 record for the season and the Browns decided to make the move for Watson.
The Donovan People-Jones stats for 2022 show 61 receptions for 839 yards and three touchdowns. The 13.8 yards per catch average was the lowest of his career. He also returned 18 punts for 223 yards and a touchdown. But the Browns traded for Elijah Moore and drafted Cedric Tillman in the third round. So Peoples-Jones could see his playing time reduced in 2023.
Through three NFL seasons, Peoples-Jones has 109 receptions for 1,740 yards and eight touchdowns. He’s had just one rushing attempt for two yards. In returns, he’s had 48 punt returns for 395 yards and a TD. He’s also returned 18 kickoffs for 379 yards.
Due to the uncertainty of his playing time in 2023, there are no NFL futures odds on Peoples Jones final stats for the season.
