There were times during the 2023 NFL season that Patrick Mahomes looked like an average quarterback. Statistically, it was his worst full season in the NFL. Mahomes set new lows in quarterback rating, touchdown percentage, yards per pass attempt and passing yards per game. His 14 interceptions were a career high. But once the playoffs rolled around, the Patrick Mahomes stats were pretty impressive by any standards.

Mahomes’ Impact on Bettors

Most football fans are familiar with Mahomes’ traditional statistics. He’s quickly becoming one of the all-time great quarterbacks from a numbers standpoint. But he has some other numbers that are pretty impressive. Those are his numbers against the point spread. Here, the Patrick Mahomes stats really stands out.

The Super Bowl betting odds that had the 49ers favored, set up a great situation for Kansas City. Since Mahomes took over as the team’s starting quarterback in 2018, Kansas City is 12-3-1 ATS as an underdog. In the postseason, the NFL scores show Kansas City is a solid 13-5 against the spread. He’s led 14 fourth-quarterbacks and has also gained 1,936 rushing yards and scored six touchdowns. His lifetime quarterback rating is 103.5. Mahones has led the Chiefs to the top of the NFL standings in the AFC West in all six seasons as a starter.

Postseason Patrick Mahomes Stats

As good as the Patrick Mahomes stats are for the regular season, the postseason stats are a little better. His quarterback rating is 105.8 and he’s led five fourth-quarter comebacks in just 18 games. His 15-3 straight-up record is nothing to scoff at. Mahomes has completed 67.9% of his passes in the postseason and he has 524 rushing yards. Of his 90 rushing attempts, 36 have been for a first down or a touchdown.

But the most important stat to Mahomes and his teammates is the one that shows three Super Bowl championships in the last five years. To Mahomes, that’s more important than his two Super Bowl MVP Awards and the other individual accolades that have come his way.
