Christian McCaffrey Anytime Touchdown (-225)
The 49ers running back, Christian McCaffrey, will be the most bet-on player to score a touchdown in Super Bowl LVIII. He’s got the highest probability when looking at the NFL Anytime Touchdown scorer odds.
McCaffrey added a touchdown in 83% of games this year and has scored at least once in seven of his last ten games.
In the NFL playoffs, through two games, McCaffrey scored two touchdowns in each game, totaling four touchdowns on 37 carries.
McCaffrey played 15 games in the regular season. In those 15 games, he scored 14 rushing touchdowns and seven more receiving touchdowns. He was this year’s best running back and will likely get some MVP votes for his accomplishments this season.
We believe the 49ers will do everything possible to keep Brock Purdy from making mistakes and turning the ball over. The Niners will try to establish the run and will continue to run the ball when around the goal line.
Betting -225 is a little high, but it truly is that likely for him to score a touchdown in this game.
Isiah Pacheco Anytime Touchdown (-130)
The Kansas City Chiefs star running back has added a touchdown in seven consecutive games up to this point.
While some analysts and fans like to hype up the 49ers’ run defense, the Lions just added 6.3 yards per carry on 29 attempts against the 49ers last week.
Both NFL teams need to establish the run early in this game. When Kansas City is around the goalline, they love giving the ball to Pacheco to bulldoze his way into the endzone.
Pacheco hasn’t played a game without scoring since November 20. At -130, the odds are in Pacheco backers’ favor, especially with oddsmakers expecting three touchdowns out of the Chiefs in this game.
Travis Kelce Anytime Touchdown (-110)
It’s no secret that Travis Kelce had a down year this season. This season, he caught 93 passes for 984 yards but only added five receiving touchdowns, averaging 10.6 yards a catch.
However, a new Kelce has come out of nowhere in the playoffs.
Kelce has added three touchdowns in three games and has caught 23 passes on 27 attempts for 262 yards. He’s added an extended play of at least 20 yards in those three games and earned 70+ receiving yards in each NFL matchup.
Kelce will be in Kansas City’s gameplan. If it’s not Pacheco scoring, Mahomes will likely look Kelce’s way. Mahomes trusts Kelce the most, especially in the Super Bowl.
Deebo Samuel Anytime Touchdown (+130)
Deebo Samuel barely played in the NFC Divisional Playoffs game against the Packers. He caught two balls for 24 yards and then left the game due to an NFL injury.
However, he returned for the NFC Championship game and added eight catches on nine targets for 89 yards. He also ran three times for seven yards.
Samuel will be used in many different ways. However, at +130, there’s no value here. Samuel only caught 60 of 89 passes in the regular season. Samuel was 68th in the NFL in catch rate this season.
He’ll be utilized. But again, once the Niners get around the red zone, the ball is going to McCaffrey. They could try an end-around with Samuel, but the Niners won’t want to play around in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs fumbled with Mecole Hardman a couple of times around the red zone doing that. Why try it with Samuel?
Rashee Rice Anytime Touchdown (+125)
In three games in the playoffs, Rashee Rice has had nearly as many targets as Travis Kelce. He’s only added one touchdown in the three playoff games, but he still had seven touchdown receptions this NFL season.
He’s even seen at least seven receptions in six of his last nine games. He can make big plays and has Mahomes’ trust. The two guys Mahomes likes are Rice and Kelce. Nobody else gets much attention in the passing game besides the running backs.
It would be a go if you could find these NFL odds at a higher price of +175 or better. But at +125, you can find better NFL Anytime Touchdown scorer odds.
Brandon Aiyuk Anytime Touchdown (+150)
Aiyuk is dealing with the same thing as Samuel. He’s seen 14 targets in two games. That’s the good news. The bad news is that he’s only caught six of the 14 balls thrown his way in the playoffs.
He added a touchdown in the NFC Conference Championship on a fourth-down conversion. But in the first three plays around the goal line, the Niners tried running it with McCaffrey.
Don’t bite on Aiyuk at +150.
George Kittle Anytime Touchdown (+150)
George Kittle is also too inconsistent to bet him at +150.
In the NFC Championship Game, he added two catches on three targets for 27 yards, despite the Niners in passing situations all second half. Kittle earned four or fewer targets in three of his last five games.
He’s also sitting at +850 when looking at the Super Bowl first touchdown odds. But it feels like the Niners will want to set the tone with the run game early.
