The San Francisco 49ers made a statement by blowing out the Philadelphia Eagles. It was a one-team show in this NFC Championship rematch and while many players starred, the one who stood out most was 49ers receiver Deebo Samuel. The Swiss army knife of a player scored more touchdowns than the entire Eagles team. And Deebo Samuel stats were just the start of it.
Deebo Samuel: San Francisco’s Real MVP?
Samuel’s Stats are Just the Tip of the Iceberg
Samuel put up a hefty stat line in San Francisco’s statement win. He compiled 138 yards from scrimmage along with three total touchdowns. The former All-Pro was unstoppable as he scored 18 of San Francisco’s final 28 points. These included a pair of receiving touchdowns that were over 46 yards. In short: he was the MVP.
“I ain’t gonna lie, I was in that zone all week long for us,“ Samuel said after the win, via SF Gate. “They beat us in the NFC Championship, and at the end of the day, like talking trash, it’s just part of the game. Hopefully, nobody took it to heart because it’s all fun and games.”
The 49ers are rolling again partly thanks to Samuel. Other than his NFL player stats, the team went through a rough 0-3 stretch when he got injured. Now, the team is 9-0 and 7-2-0 as an NFL pick against the spread (ATS) when he’s active. And that’s not coincidental.
Deebo Samuel’s Player Profile & Stats
The 49ers drafted Samuel in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He quickly made an impact in his rookie year totaling 961 yards from scrimmage and six total touchdowns. In his third season, he was an All-Pro selection and a Pro Bowler.
2023 Stats
Deebo Samuel stats in 2021 will be hard to replicate: he totaled 1,770 yards from scrimmage and 14 touchdowns. For 2023, he’s on pace for 1,050 yards from scrimmage and 10 total TDs. That’s still a prolific showing, especially with star running back Christian McCaffrey also commanding a fair share of looks.

Samuel is Still an All-Pro Talent
Deebo Samuel stats may not be as eye-popping as it was in 2021. But he’s still a crucial part of the 49ers. When he’s healthy, it allows Kyle Shanahan more freedom with his play-calling. Samuel’s physicality and fighting spirit are also beneficial to the team.
San Francisco will continue being a top pick on the NFL betting lines. With Samuel, McCaffrey, and other top-tier skill position players, it continues to destroy teams. Barring injury, it’s hard to see how anyone can stop the 49ers’ offense.
