Super Bowl Defensive Props Odds: Pass Rushers Could Have a Field Day on Super Sunday

The Philadelphia Eagles Look to Add to NFL-Leading Sack Total in the Super Bowl

Will Any Defensive Players Find Their Way Into the End Zone in Super Bowl 57?

When it comes to the Super Bowl hype, sometimes it is easy to forget that there aren’t only star players on the offensive side of the ball. Both the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs have players capable of sabotaging even the best offensive game plans. That is making for some enticing Super Bowl defensive props odds.

Whether it is pass rushers Frank Clark of the Kansas City Chiefs and Haason Reddick of the Philadelphia Eagles, interior linemen Chris Jones and Fletcher Cox or difference makers in the secondary, there could be money to be made with the production of the defensive stalwarts. Kansas City is priced at +150 and Philadelphia at +160 to go over 1.5 turnovers so this is not expected to be a mistake-prone game. The Chiefs are at -115 to top 2.5 sacks with the Eagles priced at -155 to accomplish that feat.

When it comes to the individuals, keep on reading for some bets worth taking a shot on. Check the rest of the Super Bowl teams stats before making any decision.

Jones Ready to Rumble

It is one of the great mysteries how Chris Jones failed to record a sack in his first 13 NFL postseason games with the Kansas City Chiefs.

He made up for lost time with two sacks, three tackles for loss and five quarterback hits in the AFC championship game against Cincinnati. The fact that the Bengals were without two starting offensive linemen in the game certainly factored into more freedom for Jones to get into the backfield. Still, it is hard to overlook Jones when examining the Super Bowl defensive props odds. Check the rest of the players stats this season.

Jones had 4.5 sacks in the last three regular-season games. He is priced at -135 to have a sack in the Super Bowl and that is the way to go. The fact that multiple starting offensive linemen are showing up on the NFL injury reports makes it even a better choice to trust Jones to get to the quarterback.

No Sweating This Pick

The obvious way to proceed when it comes to the pass rushers for the Eagles is to go with Haason Reddick to have a sack since he leads the NFL with 3.5 sacks in the postseason; however, a -175 number is not much of a payout.

When looking at the Super Bowl defensive props odds, it would be a smarter move to look at the other side of the line of scrimmage as Josh Sweat is at +130 to record a sack.

Sweat recorded a career-high 11 sacks during the NFL regular season and added 1.5 in the two playoff games.

With all the attention being paid to Reddick and defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, he could not have to beat one blocker, but there may even be alignments when a tight end is asked to block Sweat.

Gardner-Johnson In the Middle of Things

One of the key acquisitions for the Eagles was adding safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson from the New Orleans Saints in a swap of draft picks.

Gardner-Johnson is at his best playing the deep safety role and that resulted in Gardner-Johnson coming up with six interceptions during a five-game . He also had five games with at least six tackles.

With the way Kansas City utilizes tight end Travis Kelce, expect him to be busy, whether he has the coverage on Kelce or if he comes in to help out in the middle of the field.

Gardner-Johnson is priced at -135 to go over 5.5 tackles and that would be a solid bet as part of a parlay.

Getting into the Act

Both the Eagles and Chiefs had a pair of touchdowns scored by defensive players and that is something to keep an eye on heading into the NFL Super Bowl.

There are plenty of ball hawks on both teams and while neither Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes nor his Philadelphia counterpart Jalen Hurts is known for putting the ball into dangerous spots, it is worth taking a shot at having a pick 6 in the Super Bowl with that priced at +600. Why not take a chance on that when considering NFL defensive prop bets?

Bolton Set to Be Big Hit

Second-year Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton was quiet in the AFC championship game with just four tackles. When crunching numbers and looking at NFL player stats, counting the playoff opener against Jacksonville, Bolton had at least 10 tackles in six of the previous nine games. He has also missed only one defensive snap over the last 12 games.

Philadelphia loves to run the ball between the tackles and there will be plenty of opportunities for Bolton to make his presence felt. The price is set at -110 for Bolton to go over 10.5 tackles and -120 to go under. Look for Bolton to finish over that number.
