Will Rafael Nadal Retire in 2024?

The Spanish Legend Could Call it Quits

There are questions about will Rafael Nadal retire in 2024. And there are betting markets for bettors to enjoy.

The Spanish superstar has been plagued with injuries throughout his career, and after missing most of 2023, many believe 2024 will be his final year on the ATP Tour.

He seems only focused on grand slam tournaments, but don’t rule him out on playing longer and delaying his retirement.

2024 Looms Large for Injury-Stricken Player

Most tennis picks have Nadal retiring in 2024, and although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, he has hinted at the idea.

The 37-year-old is a 22-time grand slam champion, with many of those wins coming with Roland Garros scores.

He was forced to withdraw from the French Open in 2023, and we’re not sure if he’ll ever step onto the court again.

He doesn’t have much left to prove, and top tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou believes he won’t continue with his comeback unless he can compete at the top level.

“Will he be ready to win the Australian Open? Probably, he’s going to be short. He wants to see if he’s able to win a Grand Slam still,” Mouratoglour said. “If he’s far from the feeling that he can win a Grand Slam, he will probably stop.

“But if he feels he can still [win], I think he will continue. Again, unless he has an injury that we ignore.”

The sportsbook has Rafael Nadal retire in 2024 at -500, so there has been big money come for that option. If he misses the French Open again, he might just call it quits.

However, a part of us believes he will want to compete at least one more time at Roland Garros, and that could happen in 2025.

Novak Djokovic is one of the oldest players on tour and he’s still winning tournaments, so that should spur Nadal on.

Big Odds to Prolong Career

Should Rafael Nadal retire in 2024, bettors get -500, but should be continue into the following year, bettors get +300.

He might put his official retirement on ice, much like his knees, for a year, so there is good value with this pick.

Questions will be asked of him throughout the year, but he could easily delay his retirement if his injuries are still bothering him.

If he’s ready to go for the Australian Open, that would hamper his chances of retiring later than 2024. However, if he misses the first few grand slams of 2024, the +300 will look healthy.

It would be sad to see him leave the game under an injury cloud. We would love to see him at least return to Roland Garros for a few more years, and his winning determination could see that happen.

It won’t be an easy bet to cash, and it could take the entire calendar year to decide, but take +300 for his career to go into 2025. Nadal doesn’t know when to quit, otherwise, he would have already hung up his tennis shoes.
