Dolidze and Imavov Could Just Brawl

Roman Dolidze and Nassourdine Imavov could be an unexpectedly violent fight on this UFC fight schedule. Imavov is favored at -160 while the total is expected to go over 2.5 rounds at -160. But it’s set these lines because anything could happen here given the small octagon and the all-around abilities of both men.

“How you use space is always an advantage. But on the other hand, it can be a disadvantage because if you need to back off, the space is smaller,” Roman Dolidze said via Philstar.com. “It is about executing your game plan and taking advantage of mistakes. You may be winning on the scorecards or in the statistics, but one lucky punch and it changes everything.”

Indeed, this fight is not expected to go to a decision at -200. And it’s not even expected to make it to Round 5 at -165.

Three of Dolidzes’ last four wins have come via knockout. He did all three in the first two rounds. As for Imavov, two of his last three wins were also via TKO. As such, expect someone to get starched here. And given the UFC betting odds, it could be Dolidze.

Imavov lacks the “oomph” in his punches. But he has better endurance and could just outlast Dolidze. The Georgian is a fast starter but he has faded down the stretch. This is a five-round fight and Imavov is a high-pressure fighter who lands over 4.5 significant strikes per minute. He will not let Dolidze rest.

Still, he can’t get too aggressive given Dolidzes’ power. It’s a tough call with the Dolidze vs Imavov UFC odds. But a bet on the total to go ‘under’ 2.5 rounds at +130 may be a shrewd underdog play.

More Violence By Way of the Featured Fights

Setting up the main event is a pair of potentially explosive matchups. The UFC matchmakers have “no chill” setting up Renato Moicano and Drew Dober in a lightweight scrap while Randy Brown takes on the “King of Kung Fu” Muslim Salikhov.

Moicano and Dober are finishers, hence why the Dolidze vs Imavov UFC odds have their bout not going to a decision at -360. The total of 1.5 rounds is even expected to go ‘under’ at -130. And why not? Seven of Moicanos’ last nine bouts were finished under 1.5 rounds. Six of the Brazilian’s nine wins have also come via submission. But three of his five losses came via KO.

Dober has nine of his 13 wins coming via knockout. His last five bouts produced a KO. He’s got heavy hands and an iron chin. But he’s also been submitted four times. So either Moicano submits him or he knocks Moicano out. Either way, this next UFC fight is likely to have one UFC fighter unconscious before the final bell rings.

Meanwhile, the Brown-Salikhov fight is expected to go over 2.5 rounds at -160 and to go to a decision at -125. But despite these lines, this could still be an action-packed fight with plenty of exchanges.

Brown lands nearly 4.4 significant strikes per minute at a 47% clip. He is a prolific striker who sports an eight-inch reach and youth advantage over Salikhov, hence why he’s rightly favored at -280.
