Bayern Gaining Confidence

While Bayern ramp up their search for Thomas Tuchel’s successor, the results on the pitch have improved recently. Bayern showed guts to defeat Arsenal 1-0 last Wednesday as Joshua Kimmich scored the game’s only goal. The Bavarians still have hope of winning Champions League silverware but they have to get past Real Madrid in the Semifinal. Bayern followed up their big UCL victory by dismantling Union Berlin.

Bayern led 5-0 by the 66th minute as Thomas Muller scored twice. All of Muller, Leon Goretzka, Harry Kane, and Mathys Tel managed two goal contributions in the victory. Kane scored on a well-taken free kick, and he’s now up to 33 goals in his first Bundesliga campaign. It’d take a miracle for him not to win the Golden Boot, as he’s eight goals ahead of second-placed Serhou Guirassy.

Bayern have already missed out on the Bundesliga title, ending their 11-year streak. However, they need to stay sharp with key Champions League matches coming up. Our Bayern Munich vs. Frankfurt preview notes that Tuchel’s side has a few injuries heading into this one. Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry, and Jamal Musiala are all listed as doubtful. Meanwhile, Kingsley Coman and Sacha Boey are out.

Eintracht Back Among the Wins

Eintracht Frankfurt tightened their grip on sixth place in the Bundesliga standings by defeating Augsburg 3-1 last Friday. Augsburg scored the first goal of the match, and Eintracht fought back valiantly in the second half. Fares Chaibi equalized and Hugo Ekitike scored his first goal for Frankfurt to put them ahead. Omar Marmoush slotted home into an empty net in stoppage time in their first win in over a month.

With four games to go, Frankfurt is on course to qualify for European competition. They’re five points ahead of seventh-placed SC Freiburg and six points ahead of both Augsburg and Hoffenheim. However, three of their final four matches are against current top-four opponents. After this match, Frankfurt hosts champions Bayer Leverkusen and they still have a match vs. RB Leipzig remaining.

No team has drawn more Bundesliga games than Dino Toppmoller’s side this season. Twelve of their 30 matches have finished all square. While Frankfurt are 7-7-1 at home, they’re just 4-5-6 on the road this season. Eric Dina Ebimbe left Frankfurt’s last match early, meaning the midfielder is a doubt for this one. Sebastian Rode and Sasa Kalajdzic are also sidelined here.

Bayern Munich vs Frankfurt Analysis & Odds
