Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund Odds & Preview
Germany’s Biggest Rivalry Takes Center Stage

Must-Win for Both Teams
With just eight games remaining in the Bundesliga season, Bayern Munich are ten points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen. Heading into Saturday’s massive match vs. rivals Borussia Dortmund, only three points will do. The same goes for Dortmund, who are only one point ahead of Leipzig for the fourth and final Champions League place. With both sides needing victories, we’ll preview the Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund odds for another exciting edition of Der Klassiker.Â
Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund Head-to-Head:
Bayern Munich are on a nine-game home winning streak on their German Bundesliga schedule vs. Borussia Dortmund. Plus, Bayern are also unbeaten in their last 11 matches vs. Dortmund, overall. In November 2023’s matchup, Bayern came away with a 4-0 victory as Harry Kane scored a hat trick in his first Der Klassiker. The Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund odds listed Bayern as -140 pregame road favorites. Dortmund last beat Bayern at the Allianz Arena in the 2017 DFB-Pokal Semifinal.Â
Record-Setting Kane Injured for Bayern Munich
Bayern seem to be peaking at exactly the right time. With Der Klassiker this weekend and their Champions League Quarter-Final fixture vs. Arsenal coming up, Bayern are on a three game winning streak. During that time, they’ve scored an absurd 16 goals and defeated Darmstadt 5-2 just before the international break. Bayern actually fell behind 1-0 in that match but came back with a vengeance. Jamal Musiala equalized and Harry Kane managed to put Bayern ahead just before halftime.Â
With his header, his 31st goal of the Bundesliga season, Kane set the record for most Bundesliga goals in a debut campaign. Needless to say, he also leads the Bundesliga stats in goals and needs just ten more to equal Robert Lewandowski’s record for most goals in a Bundesliga season. Musiala completed his brace in the second half as Serge Gnabry and Mathys Tel also got on the scoresheet. Musiala has contributed to six goals in his last two games alone.Â
Meanwhile, Gnabry has scored in each of his last two since returning from a long term injury. The Bavarians might not win the title this season but they’re still a force to be reckoned with in the Bundesliga and hold a 19-3-4 record. Bayern recently blew out Mainz 8-1 and they’re capable of putting five on anyone. However, first string goalie Manuel Neuer is out, which means Sven Ulreich should fill in. All of Kane, Sacha Boey, and Raphael Guerreiro could miss out as well. Kane pulled out of the England squad with an ankle issue and his status should be closely monitored.Â
Dortmund Fighting for Champions LeagueÂ
While Bayern Munich have been in great form lately, Borussia Dortmund have also gone on a run of their own. Dortmund have won their last four matches, in all competitions, including their last three Bundesliga fixtures. In mid march, Dortmund hosted Eintracht Frankfurt and former BVB player Mario Gotze scored against his former club. Dortmund remained persistent, though, and Donyell Malen managed to find Karim Adeyemi for the equalizer. Mats Hummels scored the go ahead goal and Emre Can made no mistake of a late penalty to hand Dortmund a 3-1 victory.Â
Earlier that week, Dortmund had managed to advance to the Champions League Quarter-Final for the first time since 2021. Jadon Sancho, back on loan from Manchester United, scored for a second straight game in the second leg of the Round of 16 vs. PSV. Marco Reus also scored a late goal as Dortmund managed a 3-1 aggregate victory and a 2-0 win on the night.Â
In the Bundesliga, Dortmund haven’t been terribly consistent this season and are all but out of the title race. They enter the weekend in fourth place, 20 points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen. Dortmund need all of the points they can get, as they’re currently only one point ahead of RB Leipzig.Â
Edin Terzic will be without midfielder Marcel Sabitzer here, as he’s serving a suspension. Meanwhile goalkeeper Gregor Kobel is questionable and defender Julian Ryerson is doubtful. Ramy Bensebaini and Sebastien Haller are also out due to injuries.Â
Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund Analysis & Odds
Bayern Munich have scored four goals in each of their last two matches vs. Borussia Dortmund. Neither of those matches has been particularly close as Bayern led 4-0 in both at some point. Here, the Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund odds price the Bavarians as -225 home favorites. Bayern are 1.5-goal favorites as well for this one and they’ve won three of the last four by two goals or more.
Dortmund are in good form but they’re akin to Bayern’s little brother and are +500 underdogs for this one. They’ll certainly have more of a chance if Kane isn’t able to suit up for Bayern, as Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting or Thomas Muller would likely get the nod. Even with Neuer out and Kane likely sidelined, Bayern still has what it takes to win this match.Â
Still, spread betting could prove intriguing here as Bayern -1.5 shows -110 odds, along with Dortmund +1.5. Bettors can back a draw at +425 odds and that result would effectively kill Bayern’s waning title hopes. This has been an incredibly high scoring fixture over the years, but under four goals are priced at -115 odds for Saturday’s Der Klassiker.
