Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig Odds & Preview

Bavarians Have Dropped Two Straight in Bundesliga

Leipzig Fighting for Top Four

Bayern Munich is in crisis mode and is in serious danger of missing out on the Bundesliga title for the first time since 2012. They’ve also lost three games in a row, in all competitions, for the first time since 2015. Yet, Thomas Tuchel is still Bayern’s coach amid suggestions that he’s lost the locker room. On Saturday, Bayern takes on RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga as Leipzig is vying for a top-four spot. Ahead of an important match for both Bundesliga teams, we’ll preview the Bayern Munich vs Leipzig odds and team news.

Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig H2H:

RB Leipzig are unbeaten in their last four Bundesliga fixtures vs. Bayern Munich overall. In the first match of the season, Leipzig defeated Bayern 3-0 in the DFL-Supercup as Dani Olmo scored a hat trick. It was Leipzig’s second straight win over Bayern at the Allianz Arena. In September, these sides drew 2-2 at the Red Bull Arena in the Bundesliga. The Bayern Munich vs Leipzig odds listed a draw at +330. All-time, Bayern Munich are 10-6-3 vs. RB Leipzig.

Bayern in Crisis

Bayern Munich has lost three matches in a row, in all competitions, for the first time since 2015. Their losing streak kicked off with a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen in a match that shifted the title race firmly in Leverkusen’s favor. Then, Bayern fell 1-0 to Lazio in the Champions League round of 16 first leg last Wednesday. The Bavarians conceded three times in Sunday’s 3-2 loss at VfL Bochum.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

It’s remarkable that Bayern haven’t sacked Thomas Tuchel given the circumstances. Bayern are likely going to miss out on the Bundesliga title for the first time in 12 years. They’re currently eight points behind a Leverkusen side that hasn’t lost yet this season. Plus, they’re at serious risk of crashing out of the Champions League. Last season, Julian Nagelsmann was dismissed for less. Harry Kane has still never won a senior trophy and it appeared that would change when he joined Bayern Munich last Summer. Now, he may have to wait a little while longer.

Kane missed an absolute sitter in the first half at Bochum last weekend but he did score in the second half. He’s found the net 25 times in the Bundesliga but Bayern just hasn’t been consistent enough this season otherwise. Jamal Musiala is another dangerous man for Bayern and he got on the scoresheet last weekend. Dayot Upamecano has picked up red cards in successive matches and he’s out for this one and the second leg vs. Lazio. Meanwhile, Serge Gnabry, Konrad Laimer, Kingsley Coman, Alphonso Davies, Sacha Boey, Aleksandar Pavlovic, and Noussair Mazraoui could all miss this match with injuries.

Leipzig Bounce Back From Midweek Loss

RB Leipzig also fell in the Champions League last week but they certainly put up a fight. Real Madrid keeper Andriy Lunin was on fire as he helped Los Blancos pick up a 1-0 road win in Leipzig in the round of 16 first leg. Leipzig bounced back over the weekend when they hosted Borussia Monchengladbach in a Bundesliga clash. Xavi Simons scored a brilliant volley for Leipzig 14 minutes in. Lois Openda chipped the Gladbach keeper in the second half as Leipzig picked up a 2-0 victory.

As things stand, Leipzig are outside of the Bundesliga top four but they’re only one point behind fourth-placed Borussia Dortmund. While Bayern have Kane, Leipzig have Openda. The Belgian international has scored 16 times in 22 Bundesliga appearances and has performed admirably since joining from French club Lens. Simons, who will head back to PSG after his loan spell, has scored six goals and provided seven assists in the Bundesliga.

Dani Olmo is another creative player to watch and he makes Leipzig much better when he’s healthy. Leipzig have scored twice in each of their last five Bundesliga games and they’ve performed well vs. Bayern recently. Only Amadou Haidara and Lukas Klostermann are on the injured list for Leipzig here.

Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig Odds

A Bayern Munich loss here could mean they’d almost certainly be out of the title race. It would almost certainly cost Tuchel his job as well. Leipzig are unbeaten in their last four matches vs. Bayern and they undoubtedly won’t be afraid of a trip to the Allianz Arena. Here, the Bayern Munich vs Leipzig odds list the Bavarians as -140 favorites, though.

Bettors expecting Leipzig to pile onto Bayern’s misery can take the visitors at a +350 price. They are just 4-2-4 on the road in the Bundesliga this season, though, and have been an inconsistent soccer betting pick. Bayern does have a lot of injuries and only left-back Alphonso Davies is in contention to return for this match. With Upamecano also suspended, Tuchel may have to go with a makeshift backline with so many fullbacks out.

That could open up opportunities for Leipzig, who can be deadly on the counter attack. A draw (+335) is another option for bettors here, while Bayern -0.5, -1 sits at -120 and Leipzig +0.5, +1 is priced at even Bundesliga odds. Over 3, 3.5 goals display -120 odds as five of the last seven meetings have finished with four or more goals.
