FC Köln vs Bayern Head-to-Head

Last season, both games between these sides were close. Although, Bayern Munich finished ten places ahead of FC Köln in the Bundesliga table, the first meeting of the season finished in a 1-1 draw. Köln led for nearly the entire match but a Joshua Kimmich equalizer preserved a draw for Bayern. In the reverse fixture, Bayern Munich picked up a 2-1 win on the road as Kingsley Coman and Jamal Musiala got on the scoresheet. Köln’s last win over Bayern Munich was 12 years ago and Bayern have won 16 of the last 18 FC Köln vs Bayern Munchen head to head meetings.

Köln Struggling to Stay Afloat

FC Köln have been a poor pick for soccer betting so far this season. They’re level on points with last-placed Union Berlin but are in 17th on goal difference. Köln have scored the fewest goals in the league, with just nine through 11 matches. Just before the November international break, they drew 1-1 at VfL Bochum. The Billy Goats fell behind in the first half and Bochum created a ton of chances.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

Köln keeper Marvin Schwabe kept them in the match with a number of excellent saves. Davie Selke finished off a pass from Linton Maina to equalize in the second half. FC Köln have now drawn their last two matches by a 1-1 scoreline. There’s been some noticeable improvement over the last five matches, as they’ve lost just two of them.

Still, Köln are just 1-3-7 this season and may find themselves in a relegation scrap by season’s end. Florian Kainz and Selke have both scored three goals this season but haven’t gotten much help. Midfielder Dejan Ljubicic is dealing with an illness but he should be available for Friday’s match.

Bayern Blowing Away Opponents

Bayern Munich have scored a ridiculous 42 goals through 11 Bundesliga matches. Harry Kane has scored 17 of them alone and he’s set a record for the most goals at this stage of a Bundesliga season. Kane has also scored more goals than the Bundesliga’s joint-Golden Boot winners scored all of last season. Before the international break, England’s number nine scored twice for Bayern in a 4-2 win over Heidenheim.

The Bavarians looked to be cruising to victory, with a 2-0 lead, but two mistakes in quick succession allowed Heidenheim back into the game. With the match level at two, Bayern stormed back to score two goals, from Raphael Guerreiro and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, and grab a 4-2 win. It was Bayern’s fifth win in a row in the Bundesliga and they’ve averaged over five goals per game during that time.

Bayern have been one of the best soccer bets today and they’re also a perfect 4-0 in the Champions League so far. Thomas Tuchel’s side are out of the DFB-Pokal but they are expected to challenge for both the Bundesliga and UCL. Right now, Bayern are an unbeaten 9-2-0 in the Bundesliga but trail leaders Bayer Leverkusen by two points. Bettors should note that Jamal Musiala and Matthijs de Ligt are out injured for Friday’s match.
