David de Gea Next Club Odds

Keeper Departs Manchester United

Will De Gea be the Next Player to Head to Saudi Arabia?

David de Gea was a record-breaking goalkeeper for Manchester United, but now the Spaniard’s time at the club has ended. De Gea reportedly signed a contract extension with the Red Devils, but the club backed out of the agreement. Now a free agent, the goalkeeper is on the hunt for a new club. Still, just 32, De Gea has a few good years left in him. We’ll look at the odds of David de Gea next club as the shot-stopper weighs a big-money Saudi Arabia move.

Manchester United Stats

David de Gea finished his Manchester United career with 545 appearances and 190 clean sheets. Both of those figures are club records for a Manchester United keeper. De Gea finished his United career as a Premier League, Europa League and FA Cup winner. He also won two EFL Cups with United and three FA Community Shields.

He was Manchester United’s player of the season four times and was also in the PFA Team of the Season five times. De Gea kept 17 shutouts in the 2022-23 season, which was the most in the Premier League. For his efforts, De Gea won the Premier League’s Golden Glove award for a second time. Now, let’s look at the David de Gea next club odds.

Saudi Temptation

Plenty of high-profile players have completed moves to the Saudi Pro League this season. Flush with cash, Saudi teams can offer players some of the most lucrative contracts in all of professional sports.

This Summer alone, Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Marcelo Brozovic, Kalidou Koulibaly, Roberto Firmino and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Ruben Neves have moved to the Saudi Pro League.

David de Gea could follow in their footsteps, with Al-Nassr reportedly interested. Betting on soccer next club odds is quite popular during the Summer transfer window. With De Gea still an elite goalkeeper and his status up in the air, his odds figure to be a popular bet. De Gea to join any Saudi Arabian club currently comes in at -175 odds, and the money could be difficult to turn down.

La Liga Return?

David de Gea started his career at Atletico Madrid and won the Europa League with them. When he joined Manchester United in 2011, he became the then-most expensive goalie in Premier League history. Now, the keeper could be weighing up a return to Spain.

Three La Liga teams on the odds board are Sevilla, Atletico and Real Betis. Of those clubs, Sevilla appear to be the most likely to sign up. De Gea to go to Sevilla sits at +600 odds. Meanwhile, De Gea to return to Atletico Madrid is priced at +650. Atleti’s current keeper, Jan Oblak, is among the best in the world, though.

Last season, Atletico Madrid finished third place in the Spanish La Liga standings, but both Sevilla and Atleti can offer De Gea Champions League football. Real Betis display +3300 odds to seal David de Gea’s signature and will play in the Europa League in 2023-24.

Other Options

There are multiple countries that David de Gea could end up in. Bayern Munich, who are 11-time defending Bundesliga champions, show +1200 odds to sign De Gea. They do already have Manuel Neuer and Yann Sommer, though.

Turkey’s Fenerbahce also come in at +1200 odds, and they recently won the Turkish Cup. Interestingly, the David de Gea next club odds price any MLS club at +1400 odds. De Gea could become the highest-profile goalkeeper ever to play in MLS. Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets have already joined the league this Summer.

As Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana is set to join Manchester United, Inter will be looking for a replacement. It’s unlikely but possible that De Gea swaps clubs with Onana and joins Inter and that potentiality shows +1800 odds.

De Gea’s best chance to stay in England is with Chelsea, who lost backup keeper Edouard Mendy to Saudi Arabia. Chelsea display +2000 odds to keep De Gea in the Premier League. The only other club with shorter than +3000 odds to sign De Gea is Ajax, at +2500.
