Head-to-Head

Back in August, Fulham’s Andreas Pereira scored in the first minute at Arsenal. The Gunners fought back in the second half as Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah scored to put them up 2-1.

After going down to ten men when Calvin Bassey got a second yellow card, Joao Palhinha managed to equalize for the visiting Cottagers and the match finished 2-2. The EPL betting odds priced a draw at +525 odds. Arsenal are unbeaten in the last 11 meetings of this fixture, with an 8-3-0 record.

Fulham Fall on Boxing Day

Fulham’s Boxing Day did not go as planned. The Cottagers went on the road to Bournemouth and came away with a 3-0 loss. Justin Kluivert opened up the scoring for the Cherries on a shot that Bernd Leno should have saved.

Bournemouth doubled their lead in the second half on a Dominic Solanke penalty, and Luis Sinisterra added a third on a wonder strike. Fulham conceded three goals for the second time in the last three games, and they’ve now lost their previous three.

On their losing streak, Fulham have been outscored 8-0. Before the three game skid, Fulham picked up back-to-back 5-0 wins in early December but they’ve been quite inconsistent this season.

They’re now in 13th place in the EPL table, just six points outside the relegation zone. Plus, starting striker Raul Jimenez is serving the last game of a three-match suspension vs Arsenal.

Rodrigo Muniz has filled in, but he’s yet to score his first career Premier League goal. Willian, Tim Ream and Adama Traore are also nursing injuries for Marco Silva’s side. Keeper Leno was criticized for pushing a Bournemouth ball boy in Fulham’s last match, but he’s unlikely to face any kind of suspension for the action. Here, the Fulham vs Arsenal odds list the Cottagers as one-goal underdogs.

Arsenal Fall at Home for First Time in 2023-24

Arsenal lost at the Emirates Stadium for the first time this season when they fell 2-0 to West Ham on Thursday. Tomas Soucek scored from a Jarrod Bowen pass, and a lengthy VAR check confirmed the Hammers’ opening goal.

Arsenal shot the ball 30 times in the match but couldn’t manage to get on the scoresheet. Former Gunners defender Dinos Mavropanos scored against them in the second half in a disappointing defeat for Mikel Arteta’s men.

Even though the Gunners are just two points behind Liverpool in the EPL standings, they’ve won just one of their last four Premier League matches. Currently, no Gunners players are in the top ten of the EPL player stats for goals, as both Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah lead the team with five goals. Kai Havertz missed Thursday’s match due to a suspension, but the German midfielder should be available on Sunday.

In a boost for Arteta and the Gunners, Thomas Partey is back in training. The Ghanaian midfielder could help the Gunners’ title push in the second half of the campaign.

Second-placed Arsenal have gone 12-4-3 in the first half of the EPL season, and they’ll need to avoid dropping points at home going forward. As the Gunners look to bounce back on Sunday, Jurrien Timber, Fabio Vieira and Takehiro Tomiyasu are out injured.

Match Analysis & Odds

Arsenal will be highly motivated to bounce back from Thursday’s loss here and they haven’t points in two Premier League matches in a row this season. The Fulham vs Arsenal odds currently list the Gunners as -175 road favorites and Fulham as +440 underdogs. Fulham last defeated Arsenal at Craven Cottage back in 2012, and the Cottagers’ recent form is highly concerning.

Fulham +1 comes in at -115 odds as they try to get on the scoresheet for the first time in their last four games. Arsenal -1 shows -105 odds and it might not be a terrible pick. Arsenal know they have to be nearly perfect from here on out to beat Liverpool and Man City to the title.

They’ll put their best foot forward on Sunday. However, it is concerning that Arsenal don’t have a player that can take over games the way Mo Salah can for Liverpool or Kevin de Bruyne for Man City.

A draw is priced at +340 for this one, and it’d be the third one of the last five meetings. Arsenal have also gotten on the scoresheet in each of their previous 17 matches vs Fulham and have scored at least twice in each of the last three. Here, under 2.5, 3 goals sit at -115 odds, though.
