Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

This French Super Cup features the defending Ligue 1 champions, PSG, vs Coupe de France winners Toulouse. Toulouse haven’t won at the Parc des Princes for over 15 years and PSG will try to keep it that way on Wednesday. Let’s check out the PSG – Toulouse betting odds ahead of the match.

PSG PSG vs Toulouse TOU

Day/Time:
Location: Parc des Princes, Paris, France

Head-to-Head

This is the second opportunity for betting on soccer in this fixture in the 2023-24 season. In August’s Ligue 1 meeting, PSG and Toulouse drew 1-1. The PSG vs Toulouse betting odds listed visitors PSG as -150 pre match favorites. PSG are unbeaten in their last nine matches vs Toulouse and have won seven of the last eight. Toulouse last defeated PSG in the Parc des Princes in 2008.

PSG Dominant in Trophee des Champions

In their last match before Ligue 1’s Winter Break, Paris Saint-Germain comfortably defeated Metz 3-1. Kylian Mbappe scored a brace and Vitinha also got on the scoresheet for the Parisians. With the win, PSG entered 2024 with a five-point lead at the top of the table. Over the next week, PSG have cup matches. First, they’ll host Toulouse on Wednesday in the Parc des Princes followed by a match at sixth-tier Revel in the Coupe de France on Sunday.

In the all-time French Super Cup standings, PSG have won the most Trophees des Champions. PSG have won on 11 occasions, including in 2022, when they defeated Nantes 4-0. In fact, PSG have taken home nine of the last ten Super Cups and have made this match their own. Playing at home should provide an additional boost for the Parisians. It stands to reason that coach Luis Enrique will play more of his key players for Wednesday’s match rather than the Coupe de France match. So, expect Mbappe, Achraf Hakimi and Marquinhos to all see time on Wednesday. Ousmane Dembele, on the other hand, is still dealing with a hamstring injury and could miss the match.

Fabian Ruiz and Nuno Mendes are out injured for this one but Enrique can still name a strong side. From midfield, Vitinha has actually been PSG’s second-leading scorer in Ligue 1 this season, with five goals. If Dembele can’t suit up on Wednesday, Enrique can call on Lee Kang-in, Bradley Barcola or Randal Kolo Muani to replace him.

Toulouse Stumble into 2024

Toulouse were certainly not among the most popular French Cup picks heading into the 2023 edition. Before the tournament, Toulouse had never won a major trophy but they went on an incredible run. While scoring at least two goals in each of their six matches, Toulouse took down Lannion, Ajaccio, Reims, Rodez, Annecy and Nantes en route to their first-ever Coupe de France triumph. Now, Toulouse are in the Trophee des Champions for the first time since 1957 and they’re looking for their first win.

However, Toulouse haven’t won vs French opposition in three months. Since October’s 3-0 win over Metz, Toulouse are 0-5-5 in Ligue 1 and they’re currently in 16th, which is the relegation playoff spot. Still, Toulouse did manage to finish in second place in their Europa League group behind Liverpool and take on Benfica in the playoff round in February.

Losing Branco van den Boomen over the Summer has hurt Toulouse and they’ve scored just 15 goals in 17 Ligue 1 matches in 2023-24. Thijs Dallinga has scored a team-high five goals, while Frank Magri has added four.

Offensive threat Zakaria Aboukhlal has been out with a knee injury and will miss this match. Meanwhile, Mikkel Desler and Niklas Schmidt are questionable for Wednesday’s French Super Cup.

Match Analysis & Odds

Unsurprisingly, Paris Saint-Germain are heavy favorites for Wednesday’s match at the Parc des Princes. The PSG – Toulouse betting odds list the hosts as -500 favorites for the Trophee des Champions.

PSG enter this match on a 15-game scoring streak and they’ve certainly improved quite a bit since August’s draw at Toulouse.

Visitors Toulouse have had a rough go of it over the last few months but they have overperformed in cup competitions over the last couple of seasons.

Still, they’re +1000 underdogs for Wednesday’s match and Toulouse +1.5, +2 displays -110 odds at the moment. Meanwhile, bettors can take PSG -1.5, -2 at -120 odds as a blowout is certainly not off the table.

Enrique has depended quite a bit on Mbappe for scoring this season and he is arguably the best winger in the world. Mbappe has scored 18 Ligue 1 goals and he’ll be a popular pick as an anytime goalscorer here.

However, he hasn’t gotten on the scoresheet in a French Super Cup match since the 2019 edition. Under 3.5 goals show -150 odds but don’t expect either side to sit back in this match. A draw is priced at +550 odds and the match would go into a penalty kick shootout if level after 90 minutes and extra time.
