La Liga: Barcelona vs Real Betis Odds

Barcelona Still Unbeaten

Betis Present Tough Test for Barcelona

While Barcelona typically gets the better of Real Betis, it usually isn’t an easy match for the Catalan club. Five of the last six meetings between the sides have finished in draws or been decided by a one-goal margin. So, Barcelona will put their unbeaten record and three-game winning streak on the line when Betis come to town on Saturday. We’ll check out the Barcelona vs. Real Betis odds for this exciting La Liga clash.

Date & Time:
Location: Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, Barcelona, Spain

Head-to-Head:

Real Betis have won just one of their last 10 matches vs. Barcelona, in all competitions. Last season’s La Liga scores were 4-0 in favor of Barcelona at home and 2-1 Barcelona in Seville. These teams also drew 2-2 in the Supercopa de Espana semifinal, but FCB won on penalties. Betis did manage to defeat Barcelona on the road in 2018 and 2021, but wins in this fixture have been few and far between for the Seville club. Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski scored in all three head-to-head matchups between the sides last season.

Barcelona Snatch Victory in Pamplona

Barcelona had a golden opportunity to take a lead not even a minute into their match at Osasuna but couldn’t finish a scramble in the box. Barça managed to get on the scoresheet just before the half as Jules Kounde headed in Ilkay Gundogan’s corner kick. However, Osasuna refused to quit and got a 76th-minute equalizer. A few minutes later, Barcelona won a penalty, and Robert Lewandowski stepped up and converted.

Ever since drawing their opener at Getafe, Barcelona has gotten solid La Liga results. Xavi’s team is on a three-match winning streak heading into Saturday’s match vs. Real Betis. Barcelona added some exciting talents to their team just before the transfer deadline, and it’s possible they will play a bigger role here than they did at Osasuna. Perhaps the Portuguese duo of Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix will make their first FCB starts here. Regardless, the Barcelona vs Real Betis odds price the hosts as -260 favorites for this match.

Midfielder Pedri is still out with a muscle injury, while defender Ronald Araujo will also miss this match. Gavi and Ferran Torres were both on target in Spain’s 6-0 win over Cyprus on Tuesday. Gavi has nailed down a place as FCB’s starting left winger, but Torres has been limited to substitute appearances so far. He’s made the most of them, though, as he’s Barcelona’s joint-leading scorer along with Lewandowski. Both Torres and Lewandowski have scored two La Liga goals.

Real Betis Bounce Back

Real Betis led Athletic Bilbao 2-0 in the first ten minutes of their Matchday 3 fixture with Willian Jose and Isco goals. However, Betis fell behind 3-2 by halftime and ended up losing 4-2. Betis bounced back in their next match as they defeated Rayo Vallecano 1-0. Willian Jose was on target again as he scored the game’s only goal on a free kick.

Willian Jose is one of the more underrated La Liga players and has scored three of Betis’s five goals this season. Isco has revived his career at Betis, and he’ll also be a focus of Barcelona’s defensive gameplan. A former Barcelona player, Abde Ezzalzouli, also signed for Real Betis on transfer deadline day. Ezzalzouli, a 21-year-old winger, scored four goals and provided two assists while on loan at Osasuna last season.

Betis head into this match at Barcelona with a 2-1-1 record. They’ve had quite a demanding schedule thus far, with games vs. Villarreal, Atletico Madrid, Athletic Club, and Rayo Vallecano. Betis have a decently long injury list, with Luiz Henrique, Claudio Bravo, William Carvalho, and Nabil Fekir all out. Aitor Ruibal also had an appendectomy in late August and is still out.

Match Analysis & Odds

Barcelona have won eight of the last nine La Liga matches between these two sides and are -260 favorites here. FCB -1.5 also shows +105 odds, and they’ve averaged over three goals per game in this fixture’s last 10 La Liga meetings. While Real Betis have kept two shutouts in four matches this season, their defense looked particularly in the 4-2 loss to Athletic Club.

Opportunities should be there for both sides, as Barcelona has conceded four goals in their last two games as well. Robert Lewandowski could be critical for Barcelona here, as he’s going for a fourth straight match vs. Betis with a goal. Here, the Barcelona vs Real Betis odds price visiting Betis as +710 underdogs. Real Betis +1.5 also comes in at -125 odds.

Draws have been few and far between in this fixture, but bettors can take one at +430 odds. The odds also seem to imply that over three goals are more likely than under. Over three goals display -115 odds, while the under is priced at -105. More than three goals have been scored in eight of the last 11 La Liga meetings between the sides.
