Soccer Matchday 3: Ligue 1 Fixtures Odds

Intriguing Ligue 1 Slate This Weekend

PSG and Lille Put Unbeaten Records on the Line

Through two match weeks, PSG is alone at the top of the Ligue 1 table. The defending champions look to extend their lead and perfect record this weekend as they face Lille. Elsewhere, other Ligue 1 teams will be playing catch up but there are a handful of intriguing matches for bettors. Let’s look at the Ligue 1 fixtures odds for Matchday 3.

Lyon vs Troyes

Lyon’s match last weekend at Lorient was postponed due to the condition of the pitch at the Stade Moustoir. Perhaps that’ll mean fresh legs or jitters when they take on Troyes this Friday. Lyon will be missing goalkeeper Anthony Lopes due to a red card suspension. However, they’re -310 favorites according to the Ligue 1 fixtures odds.

Alexandre Lacazette converted a penalty in his second OL debut as Lyon defeated Ajaccio 2-1. The former Arsenal man will be key with striker Moussa Dembele recovering from a muscle injury. Former Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso also made his OL debut as a sub during Matchday 1.

Troyes seems to be low on morale. They lost 3-0 at home to newly promoted Toulouse last weekend and blew a lead to Montpellier on Matchday 1. Troyes, who finished in 15th last season, are +750 underdogs and 1½-goal underdogs. Lyon won both matches last season.

AS Monaco vs Lens

Monaco vs Lens is Saturday’s most intriguing fixture on the Ligue 1 match schedule. The last ten fixtures between these two have finished in three wins for each and four draws. This game is also expected to be highly competitive, with hosts Monaco priced as -135 favorites.

Both teams are unbeaten heading into Saturday, with a win and a draw apiece. Ten-man Monaco, fought back from 1-0 down to draw with Rennes last weekend. Meanwhile, Lens managed a shutout in a scoreless draw at Ajaccio.

Lens beat Monaco 2-0 at the Stade Louis II last season but are +355 underdogs to repeat. Florian Sotoca scored a hat trick for Lens on Matchday 1 but was quiet vs Ajaccio last weekend. Despite how frequent it’s been in this fixture, a draw sits at just +295 Ligue 1 odds.

Marseille vs FC Nantes

This is another excellent Saturday matchup as Marseille faces reigning Coupe de France winners Nantes. Marseille escaped with a draw at Brest last Sunday while Nantes drew for a second straight match. The Ligue 1 fixtures odds price Marseille as -165 favorites and OM are unbeaten in the last four meetings.

Last season, Marseille defeated Nantes twice but by just one goal on both occasions. Marseille is a one-goal favorite but Nantes are implied to be more likely to cover, at -135 odds. Each of the last four times these teams have met at the Stade Velodrome the total has gone over 2½. Over 2½ shows -135 odds for Saturday’s matchup.

Arsenal loanee Ligue 1 player Nuno Tavares will try to score for a third consecutive match for Marseille. Meanwhile, Nantes have scored and conceded just one goal in two matches and are priced at +440 odds to win. Both sides will put their undefeated records on the line on Saturday.

Clermont Foot vs Nice

Clermont responded nicely to a 5-0 drubbing by PSG to defeat Reims 4-2. All four of Clermont’s goals came in the second half after Reims’ Emmanuel Agbadou was red carded. They’ll take on Nice on Sunday hoping that they can shore up their defense a bit. Each of Clermont’s two matches has had five or more goals scored.

However, the over/under for this Ligue 1 match is set at just 2½, with the over at even odds. Both of Nice’s matches have finished in 1-1 draws and they’ve got a Thursday UEFA Europa Conference League playoff in Israel. The short rest could be difficult, especially with all of the traveling.

Even so, Clermont is +260 underdogs to pick up their second straight win. Nice are showing +105 odds and a draw is listed at +260 odds. These teams have a limited head-to-head history because 2021-22 was Clermont’s first-ever Ligue 1 season. These teams split their meetings last season, with the road team winning both games.

Lille vs Paris Saint-Germain

The last two Ligue 1 champions meet on Sunday as Lille host Paris Saint-Germain. Defending champions PSG have looked great the last two weekends, scoring five goals in each of their matches. Neymar has been the standout for them, with three goals and three assists. Lionel Messi also has two goals in two matches.

The last time PSG went up to Lille, they also put five goals on Les Dogues. The Parisians are -210 road favorites, while the over/under sits at three goals. Lille has started the season with a win and a draw but is +525 underdogs for Sunday’s match.

For those looking to bet on Ligue 1, note that both teams scored in both meetings last season. Lille’s team total is listed as just ½ but the over shows -175 odds. Meanwhile, bettors seem to like PSG to cover the one-goal spread as PSG -1 is currently priced at -135 odds.
