Grizzlies Looking for Win-Streak After Beating Jazz?

The Grizzlies vs Mavs Betting Preview Explains Which Angle Is Best?

The Dallas Mavericks are 11-6 on the season. But that’s not the primary topic when discussing the Mavericks right now.

Mark Cuban is selling his majority stake in the Dallas Mavericks to the family of Mirian Adelson. While the sale terms were not disclosed, NBC Dallas-Fort Worth believes the deal was set at $3.5 million.

Forbes believes Cuban is now worth $6.2 billion. However, the families are targeting to close the transaction by the end of the year.

Meanwhile, the Mavericks have won two of their last three games and will take on a Memphis Grizzlies team that has lost four of their previous five games. Memphis just won its fourth game of the season against the Jazz on Wednesday. That put them at 4-13 on the year.

Currently, the Grizzlies are playing without Ja Morant, who was suspended 25 games for conduct detrimental to the league.

The Grizzlies certainly need him back.

They’re 9.5-point underdogs against the Mavericks at -114, with the total sitting at 231.5.

Let’s take a look at the Grizzlies vs Mavs betting trends for this matchup.

Grizzlies vs Mavs Betting Trends

The Memphis Grizzlies have covered four of their last ten games. Meanwhile, they’ve only won three of their previous seven games and have watched the Under hit in seven of their last ten games.

The Grizzlies have had a rich history of success over the last couple of seasons. However, that success will be no longer this year, even with Ja Morant back soon.

On the other hand, the Mavericks didn’t even make the playoffs last year. Still, they decided to hold onto Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic and believed in the duo immensely. It looked good to begin the season. However, the Mavericks are only 5-5 against the spread and 5-5 straight up in their last ten games.

Dallas is back to playing average basketball. However, the Over has been achieved in seven of Dallas’ last ten games.

The Mavericks also defeated the Grizzlies on October 30, 125-110, as one-point underdogs. Dallas and Memphis went Over the total of 223 in that game.

Trade Interest In Memphis

The Grizzlies don’t even have five wins, and we’re headed into December.

They haven’t been in this situation in the last few seasons. However, they must sell off some of their assets by the NBA Trade Deadline.

Some teams are already inquiring and interested in a few players.

The latest rumors have connected the Lakers, Celtics, and Warriors to Luke Kennard. Kennard is a 27-year-old shooting guard who has only shot 36.2% from the field this season.

Kennard hasn’t played on the court since November 14 with an injury. But before he landed on the injured list, Kennard started heating up from three-point land. In his last seven games, he shot 41.5% from downtown on nearly six threes per game.

That’s appealing for a playoff contender.

Can The Dallas Duo Get Some Help?

The Mavericks have started the season well. They’re 11-6 on the season and firmly in the playoff picture.

However, Doncic has earned 31.1 points per game, while Irving has scored 24.6 points per game.

After those two, Tim Hardaway Jr. averages 16.8 points and no other player has averaged even ten points per game.

The lack of depth for the Mavericks is seriously concerning.

The Mavericks signed Grant Williams to be a solid shooter. While he’s averaged nearly 10 points, his defense isn’t top-tier by any stretch of the imagination. Meanwhile, the Mavericks signed Josh Green to an extension this year. However, he’s scored only 6.7 points per game this season.

If the Mavericks want to make a run at the NBA Championship, they’ll need other guys to step up. Or they’ll have to make a trade or two at the deadline to improve.

Can Dallas Sustain Its Success?

The Mavericks aren’t great defensively. They’ve allowed teams to score 117.9 points per 100 possessions while also giving up a 56.3% effective field goal percentage. Both of those numbers are in the bottom six of the NBA.

However, the Mavericks have done well limiting foul shots. Teams have only added an 18.4 free throw rate this season.

With the Grizzlies rarely getting to the foul line, that’s good news for the Mavericks. While Dallas has struggled defensively, Memphis has struggled even more offensively.

The Grizzlies have added only 106.7 points per 100 possessions with an effective field goal percentage of 49.8%. Those numbers are the second-to-last in the NBA.

Then there’s Dallas. The Mavericks are top-five in points per 100 possessions, effective field goal percentage, and turnover percentage. It’s unlikely to last with the lack of depth. But with Memphis allowing 114.8 points per 100 possessions, it’ll more than likely continue into this game against the Grizzlies.

Memphis is only good at forcing turnovers on defense. With the Mavericks giving up only 11.6% of turnovers per game, it will be hard for the Grizzlies to make much of an impact defensively on the road in this one.

The most glaring NBA betting trends feature the Grizzlies and their 13 losses in 17 games. The NBA odds today are favorable, with the Mavericks giving 9.5 points. We don’t mind that big number. We’ll take the Mavericks at -9,5 (-106) with one of our NBA betting picks.
