ACC Tournament Betting Odds: Red-Hot Duke is Current Fave to Win ACC
Miami and Virginia Could Meet Up After Earning Share of Regular-Season ACC Title

North Carolina Should be Playing Like Their NCAA Tourney Hopes are At Stake
Get ready for some fireworks when the ACC tournament gets underway. With no dominant team during the NCAAB regular season, it is hard to know what is going to happen.
The top five teams were separated by just one game in the final NCAAB standings so buckle up.
When looking at the ACC tournament betting odds, it might be easy to discount the six teams in action on the first day of the tournament. However, Boston College does own a win over Virginia and Florida State recently upset No. 1 tournament seed Miami.
Duke, which has the longest active winning streak among ACC teams, is considered to be the favorite to win the title.
Duke and Miami are tied at +4000 in the odds to win the national title followed by Virginia and North Carolina at +5000.
There are no ACC teams among the top 20 teams in the NCAA NET rankings so there is a possibility that no teams from the conference will earn top 16 seeds. Virginia is listed as a No. 4 seed on some brackets with Duke and Miami coming in as No. 5 seeds. Duke is 24th in the NCAA NET rankings, the best mark among ACC squads. Virginia is 30th, Miami 35th and North Carolina State is 41st.
Favorites
Duke has won six games in a row after ending the regular season by topping rival North Carolina. That has resulted in Duke (+275) being favored according to the ACC tournament betting odds.
With four of the top six scorers being freshmen, including top scorer and rebounder Kyle Filipowski. Duke is a very dangerous team that could win the conference title or get knocked out in the quarterfinals with a potential matchup with Pittsburgh.
Miami and Virginia are not only the top two seeds after finishing on top of the standings, the Hurricanes and Cavaliers are both priced at +300 to win the conference tournament.
Miami has some hard-to-fathom losses on its schedule along with some impressive wins. The tendency of the Hurricanes to play down to the competition level should be concerning to those who think this team could win it all.
Virginia is impressive on defense as always but the offense has been a work in progress. A quarterfinal showdown with North Carolina was viewed as the likely ACC title game before the season started. Boston College, which had no trouble dispatching the Cavaliers late last month, is another possible opponent if the Eagles get by Louisville and North Carolina.
One look at the NCAAB team stats reveals that Miami is the top-scoring team in the ACC with Virginia being the hardest team to score against.
North Carolina has burned plenty of people who have bet online this season. However, with four starters back from a team that played for the national title, it is hard to write off the Tar Heels even if their results have been very underwhelming. North Carolina is priced at +600 to win the ACC title. If North Carolina does make the field of 68, the Tar Heels should get some love in the March Madness contest bracket.
Outsiders
There was a time when Clemson was setting the pace in the ACC to the surprise of many. A 3-4 record in February as well as an absolute mind boggling loss to a dreadful Louisville team has Clemson sitting at +750 in the odds to win the ACC title. Getting by North Carolina State would be no easy task for the Tigers if that quarterfinal matchup materializes. NC State lost to Clemson by 25 points on Feb. 25 so keep that in mind.
The Wolfpack join Pittsburgh with +1200 ACC tournament betting odds.
The Panthers might be a little undervalued considering that they had a chance to earn a share of the ACC regular-season title before falling to Miami the last time out.
Wake Forest and Virginia Tech are both priced at +4000 with Syracuse at +10000. It would take some courage to get behind the Orange. However, Syracuse did just beat Wake Forest and that game will be fresh on the minds of both teams going into Wednesday’s showdown.
When looking at the NCAAB scores and odds, Wake Forest does feature the ACC’s top scorer in Tyree Appleby so perhaps the Demon Deacons will have a shooter’s chance to make some noise in the tournament.
Projected Championship Matchup
Miami did a number on Duke when they played on Feb. 6. Duke is playing much better right now and it will come down to whether the talent of the Duke freshmen can overcome the experience of Miami’s starting five if the teams meet in the semifinals.
It is hard to go against Virginia in the bottom half of the bracket. However, North Carolina could be left out of the March Madness bracket with an early exit in the ACC tournament so that could make the Tar Heels a very dangerous team.
