Big 12 Football Odds: TCU Favored to Wrap Up Perfect Regular Season

Either Kansas State or Texas Clinch Spot in Big 12 Championship Game

The Surprising Kansas Jayhawks Going After Rare Winning Season

There is still going to be plenty to play for as the Big 12 regular season comes to an end and that is reflected in the Big 12 football odds.

Texas Christian has already clinched a spot in the conference title game. However, if the Horned Frogs want to hold onto the fourth and final spot in the College Football Playoffs field, they can’t afford to slip up.

Either Kansas State or Texas will meet the Horned Frogs in the Big 12 title game with Kansas State getting in with a win or a loss by Texas.

TCU (+1400) is fourth in the odds to win the national championship.

Game of the Week

Kansas Jayhawks vs Kansas State Wildcats

Date, time (TV):

There is plenty on the line in this rivalry game.

Kansas State (8-3, 6-2 in the Big 12) can secure a spot in the Big 12 title game for the first time since 2003 with a win or a loss by Texas. With the Longhorns playing Baylor on Friday night, the Wildcats will know exactly what the situation is before they hit the field.

For Kansas (6-5, 3-5), a victory would clinch the first winning season for the Jayhawks since 2008.

The game features a pair of 1,000-yard rushers. Deuce Vaughn of Kansas State has 1,148 yards yards while Devin Neal of Kansas has 1,002 yards. The Wildcats will be without quarterback Adrian Martinez but Will Howard has been impressive at quarterback for Kansas State.

Kansas State is going after its 14th straight win in a series that dates back to 1902. The Wildcats have outscored the Jayhawks 128-34 in the last three meetings.

Both teams are 7-3-1 against the spread this season.

Each of the five road games played by Kansas have finished over the total. The total is at 62.5 for this game.

Other Games to Watch

Baylor Bears vs Texas Longhorns

Date, time (TV):

Texas can put the pressure on Kansas State with a win against the defending Big 12 champions. This has the makings of being one of the more interesting NCAAF matchups when looking at college football this weekend. Since Texas owns a win over Kansas State, the Longhorns would land a spot in the Big 12 title game with a win and loss by Kansas State.

The Longhorns (7-4, 5-3) are coming off an impressive 55-14 win over Kansas behind 243 yards by Big 12 rushing leader Bijan Robinson. Baylor is third in the conference in rushing defense.

Baylor (6-5, 4-4) has had some turnover issues as the Bears are -5 in turnover margin in the five losses and +6 in the six wins.

Each of the last nine games between Baylor and Texas have finished under the total. The total is currently set at 56, the lowest in the series since 2017.

Both NCAA football teams are 7-4 against the spread this season.

West Virginia Mountaineers at Oklahoma State Cowboys

Date, time (TV):

There’s not too much riding on this game. Oklahoma State’s hopes of returning to the Big 12 title game ended with last week’s loss to Oklahoma. One thing to keep an eye on when looking at the NCAAF scores, the Cowboys can wrap up perfect record at home with a victory.

West Virginia (4-7, 2-6) is guaranteed to have a losing record for the third time in head coach Neal Brown’s four seasons. The Mountaineers are just 1-4 on the road this season.

For Oklahoma State (7-4, 4-4) Spencer Sanders is coming off a tough effort with four interceptions in a loss to rival Oklahoma.

Oklahoma State has won seven games in a row against West Virginia with the Cowboys covering in six of those matchups.

After games with 89 and 86 points being scored, each of the last three contests in the series went under the total.
The total has gone under in four of West Virginia’s five road games. The total is currently at 66.5.

Oklahoma State defensive end Tyler Lacy (27 tackles) and safety Thomas Harper (30 tackles) are among the college football players listed as questionable for the game.

Iowa State Cyclones vs Texas Christian Horned Frogs

Date, time (TV):

TCU goes after a perfect regular season when the Horned Frogs play host to the cellar-dwelling Cyclones. The Big 12 football odds have TCU as a double-digit favorite.

The Horned Frogs (11-0, 8-0) have found ways to win as they have trailed in the second half five times in the last seven games. This is a game when they are expected to put things away early on.

Iowa State (4-7, 1-7) will be able to play pressure free and look for plenty of action for Xavier Hutchinson as he leads the country with 105 receptions and is fifth with 1.160 receiving yards. He is the lone bright spot during a tough season offensively for an Iowa State team that saw quarterback Brock Purdy, running back Breece Hall and tight end Charlie Kolar head off to the NFL.

TCU’s Kendre Miller had his run of 100-yard games end at five as he was held to 41 yards on 10 carries against Baylor. He will look to get going again.

Just two of Iowa State’s 11 games have finished over the total and will four road games going under the total. The total has finished under the total in each of the last seven Iowa State contests. That will take some work with the total only at 47.5 for Saturday’s matchup.

The Cyclones have covered in five of the last six meetings with Texas Christian.

Oklahoma Sooners at Texas Tech Red Raiders

Date, time (TV):

Good luck trying to figure out this Oklahoma team. The Sooners own wins over Kansas and Oklahoma State, who were both ranked at the time of the games. They also lost to West Virginia and were blown out by Texas.

The Sooners (6-5, 3-5) were expected to compete for the Big 12 title, but now need a win just to guarantee themselves a winning record in Brent Venables’ first season as the head coach.

Texas Tech (6-5, 4-4) is 5-1 at home and will look to add another home victory even though the Big 12 football odds list the Red Raiders as the slight underdog at home.

Eric Gray is second in the Big 12 in rushing with 1,201 yards and Dillon Gabriel is second in the conference in passing efficiency for Oklahoma.

The game features the top two tacklers in the Big 12. Oklahoma’s Danny Stutsman has 100 tackles and Texas Tech’s Krishon Merriweather has 96 stops.

Oklahoma has won 10 games in a row against Texas Tech with the Sooners scoring more than 50 points in six of those matchups.

The total has gone over in each of the last five times that Oklahoma played at Texas Tech. The total is at 64 at the current time.
