Missouri vs Georgia Free Pick: Can Missouri Earn a Monumental Upset On Saturday?

The Georgia Bulldogs Have Won 25 Straight College Football Games

The Georgia Bulldogs have won 34 consecutive regular-season games since November 21, 2020. It’s the longest streak in college football.

Part of Georgia’s success is because they’re really good. However, the Bulldogs also haven’t been tested very much in the SEC East. It’s the SEC West that has most of the talented teams in college football.

That said, the Bulldogs are still ranked No. 1 and look like one of the best teams in the nation. However, they’re facing a Missouri Tigers team that is 7-1 and probably the biggest threat in the SEC East this season.

Missouri’s only loss came against the best offense in the nation, LSU. Therefore, can Missouri shock the world and earn the biggest upset of the season on Saturday?

We’ve got a Missouri vs Georgia free pick for Saturday’s SEC top-25 ranked matchup below.

Missouri vs Georgia Odds

The Georgia Bulldogs are 8-0 on the season. However, they’re just 3-5 against the spread this year.

Against Missouri, the Bulldogs are a 15.5-point favorite at home, with the total sitting at 56.5.

Georgia most recently covered against Florida on the road, 43-20, as 14.5-point favorites. Oddsmakers think this game will have nearly the same outcome. Meanwhile, Georgia’s games have gone Over the total in five of eight games. That’s unlike Georgia, who mainly went Under the total earlier during their massive win streak.

On the other hand, Missouri is 5-3 against the spread this season. The Tigers have earned five covers in their last six games. The only loss against the spread was to LSU in those five games. Meanwhile, the Over has hit in six of eight games during the Tigers’ season.

The last time Missouri defeated Georgia was in 2013. The Tigers were 6.5-point underdogs and won 41-26 on the road. But since then, the Bulldogs have earned nine straight games against Missouri, including a 26-22 win against the Tigers in 2022.

Missouri was a 31-point underdog in that game and almost found a way to win outright.

How Good Is Missouri?

The Missouri Tigers are 7-1 on the year. They deserve to be ranked and should be talked about as one of the top teams in the SEC.

However, former Georgia football player Drew Butler stated that Missouri was the second-best SEC team in the nation on The SEC Wrap-Up Show on Saturday night.

That’s probably taking it a bit far.

Technically, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, and LSU are all ranked ahead of Missouri heading into Week 10. LSU also already defeated Missouri by ten points, 49-39. That was Missouri’s only loss of the season.

If Butler meant to say that Missouri was the second-best SEC East team in the nation, then he’d be correct.

But a win against Georgia on Saturday would surely put Missouri in the conversation as one of the best teams in the SEC. It’s just not the case right now.

Georgia’s Got A Target On Its Back

The Bulldogs have won two straight national championships and haven’t lost a regular season game since 2020. They’re the upper echelon. They’re the team that everyone wants to beat.

So when people see Georgia’s weaknesses, they quickly think the Bulldogs can be beatable. If we’re being honest, Georgia’s not as good as other years when they had Stetson Bennett or one of the best defenses in the nation.

So far, the Bulldogs have got the job done. However, they’ve also allowed 20 or more points in four of their last five games.

Georgia’s been tested more times than not this year. In reality, Georgia can’t have any hiccups, mainly because they’ve played an easy schedule. So they need to win out and earn the SEC, or they won’t make the College Football Playoff.

Yet, when the doubters arrive, so does Georgia. The Bulldogs always find a way.

Our Missouri vs Georgia free pick will be discussed below.

Is Georgia’s Home Field A True Advantage?

The Bulldogs are a heavy favorite against Missouri because they’re home. The Bulldogs are expected to win this game by multiple touchdowns despite only earning a four-point victory against Missouri last season when they had a better team.

Georgia’s offense should be fine. They’ve added over 500 yards of offense with Carson Beck, who has thrown for 2,462 yards with 14 touchdowns and four interceptions. Beck won’t have his favorite target, Brock Bowers, around for the rest of the regular season due to injury. But Ladd McConkey stepped up for Beck last week and put together a solid game in Georgia’s win against Florida.

While Georgia isn’t the best offense in the nation, they’re close. If LSU could add 49 points against Missouri, Georgia’s offense could have the same offensive output.

Conversely, Missouri’s offense has earned 443 yards per game, including 294 in the air and another 149 yards on the ground. The offense could struggle against Georgia’s secondary. However, Missouri has one of the best quarterbacks in college football this season. Brady Cook has a 77.4 QBR, the 16th best in the nation. He’s also thrown for 15 touchdowns and only three interceptions, with 2,259 yards passing.

Cook will have to be super accurate against this Georgia secondary. But he should have time in the pocket against a Bulldogs defense that hasn’t rushed the passer consistently this year. If Cook has time in the pocket, he’ll be able to be accurate and make plays down the field against the secondary.

The Tigers can also have a balanced attack, with Cody Schrader rushing the football. He’s earned 5.8 yards per carry for 807 yards and nine touchdowns.

With that, he’s our Missouri vs Georgia free pick for Saturday’s SEC matchup.

Missouri vs Georgia Free Pick

The Georgia Bulldogs are one of the top teams in the College Football Championship odds. They’re also leading the SEC and above Missouri in the SEC East division in the NCAA Football standings. There will be a lot of good NCAA Football games today, but this one could be extra exciting.

We don’t want to take a chance on the spread. However, the Over 56.5 sounds the most appealing.
