Patrick Mahomes is coming off his second MVP season while the team was four points shy of 500 last NFL regular season. This year, the Chiefs are 14th overall on offense and Patrick Mahomes is averaging his worst output.
But the Chiefs are 7-3 and running away with the division as they always do. The defense is allowing just 15.9 points per game and 4.78 yards per play, both of which are the best marks for Andy Reid’s team. So even if Mahomes is not lighting up the league as he usually does, the Chiefs could be even more dangerous.
Still, the Chiefs did just lose to the Eagles in a Super Bowl LVII rematch.The Kansas City Chiefs were held scoreless in the second half for the third straight game. In fact, the Chiefs’ average of 5.9 points in this half is among the five lowest in the league. That might be hard to back Kansas City on the NFL betting odds given this issue.
Uncoincidentally, star tight end Travis Kelce has been held to a total of 116 receiving yards on 16 catches. In the Chiefs’ win over the Chargers, where they scored 31 points, he totaled 179 receiving yards on 12 receptions.
Kelce, one of the NFL receiving leaders, also hinted at retirement due to his many injuries. His subpar play has limited the Chiefs’ offense. They may not need too much of it against the woeful Raiders. But given their nine-point spread on the Chiefs vs Raiders betting odds, backers should hope KC scores in the final 30 minutes.
Las Vegas Has a Shot… Really
It’s tough to bet on a team like Las Vegas Raiders, which is scoring just 16.8 points per game. But if we exclude this game, the Raiders have hit the 20-point mark just once all season.

But in a short week and against a familiar foe, the Raiders could just have a surprise or two against the NFL favorites.
“They know us; they are on a short week,” Interim Coach Antonio Pierce of the Raiders said. “I mean, they probably have the game plan against us. They know us like the back of their hand. And the same here.”
Despite a 1-9 record, the Raiders are 2-2 against the spread (ATS) when they are an underdog of 7+ points at home during this span.
That may not mean much. But adding a 6.5-point teaser on Las Vegas could be a winning leg on a parlay as the Chiefs have not won by more than two touchdowns since Week 3 against Chicago. It could be the best play given the Chiefs vs Raiders betting odds.
