Dallas Cowboys: 2023 Future Odds: Super Bowl, Conference, Division, Regular Season Wins and Player Props

'America's Team' Solid Favorite to Make Playoffs

The Dallas Cowboys had a solid NFL season in 2022, going 12-5 in the regular season and winning a playoff game at Tampa Bay. The Cowboys lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the second round of the playoffs. The team made a few roster tweaks, such as trading for Brandin Cooks, in hopes the 2023 Dallas Cowboys stats were better in the passing game.

Cowboys Still One of Best in NFC

The Cowboys don’t get the recognition of the Philadelphia Eagles or San Francisco 49ers. But they’re not far behind either of those two teams. Especially when they’re healthy.

The Cowboys weren’t always at full strength in 2022, with quarterback Dak Prescott missing some time. It wasn’t the best season for the Dallas quarterback, as he threw for 23 touchdowns but was intercepted 15 times. The Cowboys need better NFL player stats out of Prescott than that. His career numbers of 166 TDs and 65 interceptions are much closer to what the Cowboys need. Prescott doesn’t have to be one of the NFL stats leaders. He just needs to cut down on interceptions.

Tony Pollard will handle the bulk of the work in the backfield for the Cowboys. He ran for 1,007 yards and nine touchdowns last season but won’t have Ezekiel Elliott to share the workload with. He could put up some huge numbers if he can handle a number of carries.

CeeDee Lamb had a monster season for the Cowboys with 107 receptions for 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns. He’ll get some help from Cooks, who had 57 receptions for 699 yards last year. But Cooks did have more than 80 receptions in three of the previous four seasons. Dallas did lose tight end Dalton Schultz, who left to sign with Houston as a free agent.

One of the biggest losses for Dallas wasn’t a player but rather offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. Brian Schottenheimer will replace Moore. The 2023 Dallas Cowboys stats have to show similar numbers to last year’s squad for the team to be successful.

The Dallas defense was excellent at forcing turnovers last year and will have to be once again. The Cowboys had 33 takeaways last season, which was the best in the NFL. It helped make up for the 23 turnovers of the offense and left the Cowboys +10 turnovers for the season.

Dallas was No. 12 in total defense, allowing 330.2 yards per game, but were No. 5 in points allowed. The turnovers played a large part in helping Dallas keep the opposition’s NFL scores down.

Super Bowl Odds: Cowboys Need Things to Come Together

Dallas winning the Super Bowl wouldn’t be a huge shock. The Cowboys have plenty of talent but need to stay healthy, win the turnover battle, and get production from the passing game. Prescott is too good of a quarterback to put up numbers like he did a year ago. The Cowboys were +1600 to win the Super Bowl last year, and the odds this year aren’t that much different.

Conference Odds: Dallas Has to Get Past Eagles, 49ers

After being eliminated by San Francisco the past two years, the Cowboys need to do a better job in the postseason. There’s also the Philadelphia Eagles to contend with. But other than those two teams, the Cowboys are probably better than any other NFC team. Dallas was +650 to win the NFC last season, and there is little change for this season.

Division Odds: Cowboys, Eagles Battle For Title

The NFC East looks like a two-team battle between the Eagles and the Cowboys. Philadelphia gets the edge in pure talent, but the Cowboys are no slouches in that department. The division could come down to the two games played against each other. The Cowboys were the preseason favorites to win the division last year at +120.

Regular Season Wins: Dallas Needs Double-Digit Wins

After winning 12 games last season, the Cowboys received a win total of 9.5, which is lower than last year’s 10. But the Cowboys do play a tougher schedule this season. In addition to the six conference games, Dallas plays the four AFC East teams, along with the 49ers, Chargers and Seattle, who were all playoff teams from a year ago.

The Cowboys can lose seven games and still go over the wins total. If the Cowboys can repeat last season’s 4-2 division record, they’ll be closer to a 10-win season or better. It’s not going to be easy due to the increased difficulty of the schedule, but Dallas should be able to squeeze out 10 wins. The Cowboys were 8-1 at home last season, and a repeat there would be huge.

To Make Playoffs: Odds Suggest Cowboys Will Make Playoffs

The Cowboys are a solid -200 to advance to the playoffs, comparable to last season’s total of -225. The Cowboys have a shot at becoming divisional champions, but it’s more likely they’re a wild card team once again.

Side Bets: Prescott Leads the Way

Plenty more wagers are available for the 2023 Dallas Cowboys stats, with Prescott being involved in most of them. Prescott is +2000 to win the MVP award, +4000 to win the Offensive Player of the Year, and +1600 to lead the league in passing yards. You can wager on Prescott to lead the league in passing touchdowns at +1400.

Pollard is +1400 to lead the NFL in rushing and Lamb is +2200 to be the NFL receptions leader.

On the defensive side of the ball, Micah Parsons is the favorite to win the Defensive Player of the Year at +600.

You can also wager if the Cowboys will have a four-game winning streak or not in 2023. The over 3.5 consecutive wins is -175. Those betting the under 3.5 straight wins will receive +140 on their wager.
