Matt Ryan Leads The Charge (-165)

It’s safe to say that Matt Ryan’s second act in the NFL isn’t going to plan. The 37-year-old bid adieu to the Atlanta Falcons, where he spent his entire career, in the offseason in order to begin a new chapter with the Indianapolis Colts. But he’s had a rollercoaster ride as the newly-minted starter for the horseshoes.

By the overall NFL player stats, Ryan ranks just outside of the Top 10 quarterbacks thanks to a pretty good total passing yards tally (2,875) after 11 games played. On that NFL score, the veteran isn’t doing too badly.

However, he also has the ignominious distinction of leading all quarterbacks in interceptions (13) – a tally he augmented this Sunday by throwing three interceptions against the Dallas Cowboys on the way to a 54-19 loss.

Of course, Ryan wasn’t the only problem. As the NFL team stats will show, it was an epic team collapse by the Colts on primetime Sunday Night Football. That said, he’s still the odds-on favorite at -165 to finish the season as the leader in this category.

Wilson and Mills Opened as Co-Favorites

New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson and Houston Texans quarterback Davis Mills began the season as the top co-favorites in this market – both priced at +800 (or thereabouts depending on the choice of sportsbook) in the betting for NFL interception leaders 2022 .

Fast Forward through 13 weeks, neither player features on the board today. This is in part due to the fact that both were benched respectively in recent weeks. Wilson didn’t start the season due to an injury but in the seven games he played he threw 5 interceptions. Mills, on the other hand, has 11 interceptions (tied for second most) through 10 games played.

Justin Fields Second Favorite

Second-year quarterback Justin Fields has been smashing statistical records, emerging as a serious dual-threat quarterback the likes of which the league hasn’t seen since the heyday of Mike Vick.

As with most young quarterbacks, growing pains are to be expected. Insofar as Fields has captured the imagination of Chicago fans, he’s also thrown 10 interceptions through 12 games, especially at critical points in a game. This puts him fourth overall among his peers on interceptions.

Fields has three fewer interceptions than Ryan and is priced as the second-best bet at +500.

MVP Candidate, Allen Figures in The Mix

Josh Allen is having another MVP-caliber season. The Bills quarterback is third in the NFL standings with 3,406 passing yards through 12 games. He also has 25 touchdowns to 11 interceptions, the latter of which ties him with Mills.

Allen is priced as the third best bet in the ‘NFL interception leaders 2022’ betting market, but at a great distance from the favorite to win, Ryan..

Nevertheless, Allen, priced at +750, represents one of the top three quarterbacks that are currently priced in triple-digits in this market..

Rookie Kenny Pickett in Top 3

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett comes in as the next best bet after the aforementioned triplet, but his odds are double those of Allen and in quadruple digits as a result. Pickett is priced at +1500 to win this ignominious honor.

Coinciding with the Steelers’ best run of form – a 3-1 straight up record in the last four games.

Pickett has started in nine games and has eight interceptions to his credit, albeit he has gone four games without throwing an interception, coinciding with the Steelers’ best run of form – a 3-1 straight up record in the last four games.
