NFL Week 13 Odds: Philadelphia Eagles Favored in a Showdown of Division Leaders

Giants Look to Get Back to Winning Against Division Rival Washington

Matchup of Top Draft Picks Highlights Jacksonville-Detroit Showdown

There are some intriguing matchups in the early afternoon games on Sunday airing on FOX. The NFL Week 13 odds have all the games with point spreads of five points or less.

Leading the way is the showdown between the NFC East-leading Philadelphia Eagles and AFC South-leading Tennessee Titans while the New York Giants square off with their NFC East rivals from Washington.

The Jacksonville-Detroit and Green Bay-Chicago matchups won’t be impacting playoff positions. There are some talented rookies taking part in those games, however.

The totals in the four games range from 40.5 for the Giants-Commanders showdown to 51.5 for the NFL matchup between Jacksonville and Detroit according to the NFL betting lines.

The early games highlighted below include some of the top teams in the NFL against the spread. The Tennessee Titans and New York Giants are tied for the best records against the NFL odds as both have covered in eight of their first 11 games with the Detroit Lions not far behind at 7-4.

Game of the Week

Tennessee Titans vs Philadelphia Eagles

Date, time (TV):

This could be a dangerous game for the Eagles, who have the NFL’s best record.

The Titans can control the game with a running attack led by Derrick Henry, the second-leading rusher in the NFL. He has been held under 100 yards in each of the last three games.

Speaking of the ability to run the ball, Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts has rushed for 86 and 157 yards in the last two games.

The Eagles are second in the NFL in total defense and fourth in total offense, so it will be a challenge for the Titans. Tennessee is just two games out of first place in the AFC standings and is running away with things in the AFC South.

These teams are linked by the trade that sent receiver A.J. Brown from Tennessee to Philadelphia. Brown leads Philadelphia with 831 receiving yards and seven touchdown catches. Treylon Burks, selected with the first-round pick acquired in the trade for Brown, has 11 catches for 181 yards in the last two games.

Cornerback Elijah Molden and defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons are questionable for Tennessee while receiver DeVonta Smith (groin) is questionable for Philadelphia.

Other Games to Watch

Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears

Date, time (TV):

There will be plenty of eyes on the health of the two quarterbacks.

Chicago’s Justin Fields missed last week’s game with a shoulder injury and he is back at practice on a limited basis, it is uncertain if he will play on Sunday.

A rib injury knocked Aaron Rodgers out of the Philadelphia game. He is expected to return to practice and while he has said he plans to play, keep an eye on his progress. Keep an eye on the NFL odds as more is known about the playing status of the two starting quarterbacks.

A bright spot in an otherwise difficult NFL season for Green Bay has been the emergence of rookie Christian Watson as he has 255 receiving yards and six TDs over the last three games.

It was a tough week in the injury department for the Bears with leading receiver Darnell Mooney and second-leading tackler Eddie Jackson both lost for the season. Still, Chicago (3-9) can move into a tie for Green Bay (4-7) in the NFC North with a win.

Running backs AJ Dillon (quad) and Aaron Jones (shin) are both questionable for Green Bay as are offensive linemen Elgton Jenkins (knee) and David Bakhtiari (knee). On defense, safety Darnell Savage (foot) is questionable.

Rookie defensive backs Jaquan Brisker and Kyler Gordon are both questionable as they are in concussion protocol as is receiver Chase Claypool (leg) for Chicago.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Detroit Lions

Date, time (TV):

Both Jacksonville and Detroit probably deserve better than their 4-7 records and now they meet in what could be one of the most competitive games according to the NFL Week 13 odds. The Lions are 2-5 in one-score games while Jacksonville lost its first six games decided by seven points or less, but have defeated the Raiders 27-20 and the Ravens 28-27.

The game also features the first two picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. Travon Walker has 37 tackles, three tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks for Jacksonville. Aidan Hutchinson has 31 tackles, four tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks for Detroit. Hutchinson has started all 11 games, but he played a season-low 61% of the defensive snaps in last week’s three-point loss to Buffalo.

Receiver Jameson Williams, Detroit’s other first-round pick, practiced for the first time this season on Wednesday and could make his debut on Sunday.

Jacksonville running back Travis Etienne, who left the last game with a foot injury, is expected to play.
For Detroit, offensive linemen Jonah Jackson (illness), Penei Sewell (ankle) and Frank Ragnow (foot) are questionable as is cornerback Jeff Okudah (concussion).

Washington Commanders vs New York Giants

Date, time (TV):

This could easily have made the cut as the game of the week as a pair of surprising teams out of NFC East are very much in contention for playoff spots. Visiting Washington is favored according to the NFL Week 13 odds.

The Giants have cooled off after getting off to a strong start. They have lost three of the last four games with Saquon Barkley averaging 38 rushing yards and 2.5 yards per carry in the losses to Seattle, Detroit and Dallas.

Washington has won three games in a row despite Taylor Heinecke averaging 180 passing on 58% passing with just two TD passes in those wins. How much longer will he be the starter?

Rookie Brian Robinson is coming off his first career rushing game for Washington and his role figures to  increase even further.

With Washington 20th and the Giants 23rd in total offense and also outside of the top 20 in scoring offense, this could a bit of an offensive slugfest.

Running back Antonio Gibson, offensive lineman Trai Turner and tight end Logan Thomas are both questionable as is quarterback Carson Wentz, who can be activated off injured reserve at any time for Washington. Rookie offensive lineman Evan Neal is expected to return to action for the Giants while defensive lineman Leonard Williams is questionable.
