NFL Week 14 Schedule: Eagles, Vikings Closer to NFC Division Titles

Lions Favored Over Vikings, Really?

Dallas Cowboys Favored to Roll Past Lowly Houston Texans

The games are taking on added significance as the NFL season moves on. That is especially true when looking at the` NFL Week 14 schedule.

There are three early Sunday afternoon games being televised by FOX and all of them feature teams currently in playoff position in the NFC.

Detroit is currently a slight favorite against Minnesota and if that line holds, it would end a stretch of 11 games in a row when the Vikings are favored against the Lions. Dallas is favored by 17 points against Houston while the game to watch is the NFC showdown between the Eagles and Giants.

Philadelphia (+200), Dallas (+275) and Minnesota (+700) are first, second and fourth in the odds to win the NFC championship.

Two of the three games featured below are among 11 games in Week 14 with over/under totals below 50.

Game of the Week

Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants

Date, time (TV):
Moneyline: Philadelphia -300, New York +250
Line: Philadelphia -7

The division rivals will meet twice in the next five weeks. The Philadelphia Eagles have a two-game lead on Dallas in the NFC East and are up by a game on Minnesota for best record in the NFC.

The Eagles are the only team yet to lose on the road this season and that will be on the line during the NFL Week 14 schedule.

Jalen Hurts is coming off his seventh career 300-yard passing game as he was 29 of 39 for 380 yards and three touchdowns. He also had his third game in a row without an interception and has three nfl scoring runs over the last four games.

The Giants are coming off a disappointing tie at home to Washington as they are now 0-2-1 in the division. The Giants allowed more than 400 yards to the Commanders, A bright spot was receiver Darius Slayton matching his season high with six catches while rookie Kayvon Thibodeaux recorded his second sack of the season.

The Giants’ offense will have a challenge facing a Philadelphia defense that is second in the NFL with 42 sacks and the Eagles join San Francisco as the only teams to average less than 300 yards per game.
The Eagles and Giants have split the last four games.

The Giants have covered in five of their seven contests at home while the total has gone over in six of the Eagles’ last seven games.

Philadelphia lost defensive end Derek Barnett to a season-ending knee injury while safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, who is tied for the NFL lead with six interceptions, is questionable.

Offensive linemen Shane Lemieux and Joshua Ezeudu, receiver Kenny Golladay and defensive lineman Leonard Williams are questionable for the Giants.

Other Games to Watch

Houston Texans vs Dallas Cowboys

Date, time (TV):

The Texans and Cowboys play in the same state, but share little else. One look at the NFL standings makes that abundantly clear.

Houston is headed to the worst record in the NFL while the Cowboys continue to look like a contender to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.

Dallas has not only won three games in a row to improve to 9-3, the Cowboys have outscored their opponents 144-42 during that stretch.

Tony Pollard is closing in on his first 1,000-yard rushing season. CeeDee Lamb had 124 receiving yards in his first game against the Giants, but has averaged just 59 yards over his last three outings against New York. Houston has been fairly solid defending the pass this season. However, no team has allowed more rushing yards than the Texans.

The move to Kyle Allen has done little to aid the offense as he has two TD passes and four interceptions in the last two games.

Rookie running back Dameon Pierce has bounced back from back-to-back games with eight rushing yards with a 73-yard effort against Cleveland.

The teams have traded three-point wins, with each winning at home, in the last two meetings.

Dallas has covered in five of seven home games as well as in each of the last eight games played in December.
Rookie cornerback Derek Stingley and veteran receiver Brandin Cooks are both questionable for Houston.

Minnesota Vikings vs Detroit Lions

Date, time (TV):

Minnesota is looking to wrap up the NFC North Division title. It won’t be easy facing a Detroit team that has won four of its last five games. The only loss during that stretch was by three points to Super Bowl favorite Buffalo.
Jared Goff is coming off his third 300-yard game of the season. He has five touchdowns and no interceptions in the last four games.

Detroit not only has to contend with receiver Justin Jefferson, but this will be the first time facing former star tight end T.J. Hockenson. He has 30 catches in five games since being traded from Detroit to Minnesota.

On the other side, Minnesota traded the draft pick that Detroit used to select former Alabama receiver Jameson Williams. He didn’t have a catch in his NFL debut last week but is expected to complement star pass catcher Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Each of the last four games in the series have been decided by four points or less with Minnesota winning three of those contests. When looking at the NFL Week 14 schedule, this game could head in the same direction.

Minnesota offensive tackle Christian Darrisaw is questionable.
