The wild card is Michigan’s JJ McCarthy, who could be a top five pick or could fall back a bit. And which teams are taking these quarterbacks will shape how things go for the rest of the players at this position, including Nix.

A look at any Bo Nix NFL Draft odds has to keep in mind the fluidity of the draft, with trades and unexpected picks being made as the selections are being made on Draft Day. Let’s take a closer look at some of the factors and NFL odds for Nix’s NFL future.

Standout College Career Makes Nix Desirable

Nix had an outstanding college career, playing his first three seasons at Auburn before transferring to Oregon for his final two years. Nix was a freshman starter with the Tigers and was an NFL prospect even at that point, throwing for 2,542 yards and 16 touchdowns while rushing for 313 yards and seven more NCAAF scores.

Two more seasons with the Tigers didn’t see his stats go up much, but switching to the pass-happy Oregon offense did. Nix immediately stepped in and was extremely efficient in the Ducks’ system.

In 2022, Nix completed 71.9% of his passes for 3,593 yards and 29 touchdowns. And in 2023, he got even better, setting an NCAA single-season record for completion percentage at .774. He threw for 4,508 yards and 45 touchdowns while being intercepted just three times. Nix is thought to be good for the NFL because of his passing ability as well as his quick decision-making.

Nix is also good at running the ball when needed, rushing for 510 yards and 14 touchdowns in his first NCAAF season with Oregon and 234 yards and six scores in 2023.

Possible Destinations For Nix

The Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders are not expected to move out of the top two picks, selecting their quarterbacks in those spots. No. 3 belongs to the New England Patriots, who need a quarterback, but a trade down could allow them to take a future signal caller with a later pick.

Others expected to be looking for their quarterback of the future are the Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, Las Vegas Raiders and Denver Broncos. Minnesota has been tied to picking McCarthy, but that would require the Vikings to trade up, which might not happen.

Nix and his Pac-12 rival, Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr., will be watching the NFL draft tracker closely, as their draft possibilities will rest heavily on what happens with the four quarterbacks above them in the NCAAF rankings.

FanDuel has odds for the teams that Nix could end up going to, with the Broncos listed as the most likely at +110 odds. The Raiders and Giants are both listed at +700, with the Vikings getting +950 odds to take the Oregon star. The New Orleans Saints are getting +1300 odds, while the Seattle Seahawks are the only other NFL team listed at +1600 odds.

Will Nix Go On First Day of Draft?

There are varying opinions on whether Nix will be among the NFL draft picks hearing their names called on March 25, when the first round of the draft will be held. Many mock drafts put Nix as a second-round pick, though a couple have him comfortably in the first round, depending on how trades and other picks shake out.

It’s not likely Nix will be a top 10 pick considering all the other quarterbacks available, but if you want to take your chances, you can get Nix at +2200 to be pick 10 on DraftKings Sportsbook. FanDuel has listed Nix at +5000 to be pick No. 10, and has him with +2400 odds to be a top 10 pick.

Nix’s odds to be a first-round selection are set at +140 by DraftKings. That sportsbook has set Nix’s over/under for pick at 32.5, with the over getting -175 and the under +140. FanDuel put the over/under at 35.5 for Nix, with the over getting +102 and the under -136.

Nix is definitely going to be picked in the early part of this year’s NFL Draft, but the possibilities of when and by which team are almost endless. That’s the fun of betting the NFL Draft, with every NFL player having many different scenarios for their future.
