Maignan, Hernandez Suspended for AC Milan

AC Milan played in a wild game at Genoa just before the international break. All of the action took place in the second half. Substitute winger Christian Pulisic scored his fourth league goal for Milan to put them ahead in the 87th minute. A VAR check threatened to overturn the goal on account of a handball but it stood. In the sixth minute of stoppage time, Milan’s keeper Mike Maignan earned a red card.

As the Rossoneri had already made all of their substitutions, striker Olivier Giroud had to go in goal. Giroud ended up making a crucial save and Genoa’s goalkeeper Josep Martinez also got sent off. Given other Serie A scores, Milan ended up going on top of the table with the win. Due to Maignan’s red card, he’ll miss this match vs. Juventus which means Marco Sportiello should start in goal.

Theo Hernandez is also suspended for the Rossoneri which means 17-year-old Davide Bartesaghi could make his first-ever start. Regardless, the Milan vs Juventus odds list the Rossoneri as +125 favorites for this one. Ismael Bennacer is still out with a long-term injury, while Rade Krunic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are questionable.

Key Players Injured for Juventus

Juventus picked up a 2-0 win over rivals Torino in the Derby della Mole just before the international break. Both of the Bianconeri’s goals came on set pieces. Federico Gatti scored his first-ever Serie A goal on a scramble in the box. Later, Arkadiusz Milik, filling in for the injured Dusan Vlahovic, scored a header.

Torino never really threatened Juve and Max Allegri’s side kept their third straight Serie A clean sheet. Juve has been a solid pick for soccer betting in recent weeks and is now in third place in the league. However, they figure to have a lot of absences for this match. Paul Pogba is still suspended for a banned substance, while Nicolo Fagioli was given a seventh-month suspension for placing illegal bets.

Meanwhile, Federico Chiesa, Dusan Vlahovic, Danilo, Mattia De Sciglio, and Alex Sandro are injured. If neither Chiesa nor Vlahovic can suit up, Juve’s attack will take a serious hit. The duo has combined for eight of Juve’s 14 Serie A goals this season. Expect Milik to receive another start and Moise Kean could be another option for Allegri.

Match Analysis & Odds

With both teams missing some key Serie A players, this match will provide an opportunity for some fringe players to step up. AC Milan head into this match with a perfect 3-0 record at home in Serie A. Here, the Milan vs. Juventus odds price the Rossoneri as +125 favorites and Juve as +220 underdogs.

Only Inter Milan have conceded fewer goals than Juventus this season. The Bianconeri have only conceded in three of their eight matches this season and this one is expected to be low-scoring as well. Under 2.5 goals are priced at -145 odds for Sunday’s match. None of the last four meetings have finished with more than two goals.

Bettors can take a draw at +225 odds and two of the last four Serie A matchups have finished level. Recall that AC Milan has lost just one of their last nine matches vs. Juventus, in all competitions. Lastly, AC Milan pk, -0.5 displays -110 odds and Juve pk, +0.5 comes in at -110 too.
