2023-2024 Serie A Predictions: Inter Milan favored

Inzaghi’s Inter in Pole Position

Outright Odds Available for 2023-24

Napoli won their first Serie A title in the 2022-23 season since the Diego Maradona days. Their triumph followed an offseason in which they lost multiple key players. It shows that anything can and will, happen in European soccer. Napoli are in a solid position to defend their Scudetto, but 2023-2024 Serie A predictions identify some strong challengers. We’ll review the top contenders in Serie A for the upcoming season.

The Top Two

Inter Milan gained the respect of soccer fans around the globe by making a deep run in the 2022-23 Champions League. The Nerazzurri played an excellent match vs. Manchester City in the final but came up short. They also finished in third place in the 2022-23 Serie A standings.

Simone Inzaghi’s Inter have been active in the transfer market by bringing in midfielder Davide Frattesi and forward Marcus Thuram.

They’re also trying to seal a permanent deal for Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea. Regardless, the Nerazzurri are +200 favorites to win the Serie A title for the second time in four seasons. However, they’ll face stiff competition from some of the other top teams in the league. Napoli should again be in the running for the Serie A title, despite losing defender Kim Min-Jae to Bayern Munich.

Most 2023-2024 Serie A predictions give the Partenopei the second-best shot to keep the Scudetto in Naples. Napoli look set to keep dynamic duo Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who combined for 38 goals and 14 assists last season.

Serie A-winning coach Luciano Spalletti is gone, though, and Rudi Garcia is the new boss. With the Frenchman at the helm, Napoli come in at +250 odds to win Serie A.

Italian Giants in the Mix

Juventus are historically the most successful club in Italy. They’ve been Italian Serie A champions a record 36 times but are without a title in the last three seasons. From 2011-12 to 2019-20, they won nine championships in a row but won’t even play in the Champions League this season.

Fortunately, that’s not due to their results on the pitch. They would have finished in fourth if not for a 10-point deduction for improper transfer dealings. Instead, they came in seventh and will have to settle for UEFA Europa Conference League football this season.

Still, they show +330 odds to win the Serie A title. Juventus have been relatively quiet in the transfer market and have brought in versatile American attacker Tim Weah.

AC Milan were the direct beneficiaries of Juve’s ten-point deduction. Instead of playing in the Europa League, Milan got boosted to fourth place and will be back in the UCL this season.

The Derby della Madonnina vs. Inter Milan is always one to circle on the calendar. These matches on the Serie A schedule 2024 could end up being crucial in the title race.

Milan are set to raid Chelsea this Summer. They’ve sealed a transfer for midfielder/defender Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Christian Pulisic is set to follow. AC Milan are just a year removed from winning Serie A and have top players like Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud. They did lose Sandro Tonali to Newcastle earlier this Summer, though.

Roman Dark Horses

Jose Mourinho is back for another season at AS Roma and has already reinforced his squad this Summer. The Giallorossi completed smart free transfers for attacking midfielder Houssem Aouar and defender Evan N’Dicka. Roma finished in sixth place last season and display +1000 odds to win the Serie A title in 2023-24. However, they haven’t won the Scudetto for over 20 years.

Noisy neighbors Lazio are also on a two-decade Serie A title drought. The Biancocelesti did finish in a surprising second place last season and will have a healthy Ciro Immobile heading into 2023-24.

The four-time Serie A Golden Boot winner is now 33 years old and was Lazio’s top scorer last season. Lazio stand at +1200 odds to win Serie A and will juggle the competition with the Champions League.

Longshots

2024 Serie A Predictions don’t give much of a shot to any team outside the aforementioned top six. However, Atalanta have been one of Italy’s top clubs over the last few seasons. They have gotten a reputation as a selling club, and wonderkid striker Rasmus Hojlund may depart the club this Summer, with Manchester United interested.

La Dea have brought in defenders Sead Kolasinac and Mitchell Bakker to add depth. Atalanta finished in fifth place last season and come into 2023-24 as +2800 longshots to win their first-ever Serie A title.

Fiorentina, who made last season’s Conference League final, are the only other club with shorter than +10000 odds. The Viola sit at +8000 odds to win Serie A and won’t be in European competition this season, so they’ll focus on Serie A. It remains to be seen whether they’ll keep key players like Nico Gonzalez and Sofyan Amrabat.
