2023-24 Serie A Futures Betting Odds

Milan Clubs off to Quick Starts

New Champion Likely

Napoli sent shockwaves across the footballing world last season by winning their first Serie A title since the Diego Maradona days. Now, they’ve got a mountain to climb to defend their title, as they’re already seven points behind leaders AC Milan. Both Milan clubs have started fast, as Inter are just two points behind their rivals. Anything can happen with 30 games to play, but an all-Milan title race sounds like an interesting prospect. Let’s take an updated look at the 2023-24 Serie A futures betting odds to see how the lines have moved.

Milan Clubs in Pole Position

Inter Milan opened the season as +200 favorites to win Serie A, and they’re now +135 favorites. Despite not being in first place in the Serie A standings, the Nerazzurri have shown some incredibly promising signs. They’ve scored 21 goals in eight matches and conceded just five times. So, they’ve scored more and conceded less than any other team in the league.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

Lautaro Martinez has already scored 10 goals, which leads the league. In fact, Inter players are all over the Serie A leaderboards. Marcus Thuram, who scored a wonder goal in the 5-1 derby win over AC Milan, leads the league in assists. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Yann Sommer has kept five clean sheets already. Inter is the biggest lock for the top four in the league, at -1000 odds.

Some fans may believe AC Milan is being disrespected by the oddsmakers, especially after seven wins in eight games. The Rossoneri are on top of the Serie A table but show +220 2023-24 Serie A futures betting odds to win the title this season. The frontline of Rafael Leao, Olivier Giroud, and Christian Pulisic has developed some on-field chemistry, and the Rossoneri have kept five clean sheets in their last six matches, in all competitions.

Injuries severely hampered AC Milan last season as they unsuccessfully defended their title. Injuries are rearing their ugly head once again but as long as Milan’s key players are healthy, they’ll have a shot to win the league. They also stand at -800 top four odds.

Top Four Favorites

Juventus have kept three straight clean sheets on their Serie A schedule and may benefit from this season’s European ban. Juve has no extra UEFA matches on their schedule this season, while all the other potential title contenders do. So, some bettors may fancy Juventus to win Serie A at +400 odds. Juve’s results last season were good enough for fourth place, but a ten-point deduction dropped them to seventh place.

What Juve does lack is a bit of creativity in midfield. Up front, they have Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa, who should both score 10+ goals this season, health permitting. The Bianconeri should at least make the top four this season and are priced at -350 odds to do so.

Napoli dominated Serie A last season en route to their first title since 1990. In the offseason, coach Luciano Spalletti stepped down, and Rudi Garcia took over. Key defender Kim Min-jae also left for Bayern Munich, and Napoli have dropped points four times already. Victor Osimhen also could be on his way out of the club in January after an internal rift.

All of these roadblocks should be cause for caution. On their day, Napoli are still one of the most dangerous teams in Serie A, but they haven’t yet been at their best. Still, some may fancy Napoli to defend their title at +600 odds. They also show -200 odds to make the top four but could face stiff competition.

Champions League Contenders

Four other teams have realistic chances to make Serie A’s top four. First up is Atalanta, who have missed out on a top-four berth in each of the last two seasons. They’ve started off the 2023-24 campaign at 4-1-3 and the soccer lines price them at +250 top four odds and +2800 odds to win Serie A. Defense is usually the issue for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side and they conceded three times to Lazio in their last match.

Fiorentina are on a five-game unbeaten run and have already defeated Atalanta and defending champions Napoli this season. The Viola made the UEFA Europa Conference League final last season and have a deep squad. Nicolas Gonzalez has been their leading man, with five goals so far. They come in at +5000 Serie A odds and +300 top four odds.

Both Rome clubs, Lazio and Roma, sit at +6600 odds to win Serie A. Neither side has gotten off to a good start this season, as Roma are currently in 10th place and Lazio are in 13th. They’ve both conceded 1.5 goals per game so far and will need to shore up their defenses to have any shot of qualifying for the Champions League.

Lazio currently displays slightly better odds than Roma to make the top four. The Biancocelesti are priced at +350 odds to make the top four, while the Giallorossi are at +400. While no Lazio player has scored more than twice this season, Romelu Lukaku has three goals for Roma in the last two matches.

Relegation Race

Newly promoted Cagliari appear to be the team most likely to go back down to Serie B. The 2023-24 Serie A futures betting odds list them at -275 to face the drop. They’ve lost six of their eight matches so far and are still without a win. Regardless, the relegation race is wide open, as nine teams have shorter than +1000 odds to go down.

Both Salernitana and Empoli have avoided the drop for two straight seasons but they may not be as lucky the third time around. Salernitana are currently winless while Empoli’s only win so far came vs. Salernitana. The odds imply that both Salernitana and Empoli have slightly greater than 50 percent chances of going down to Serie B.

Salernitana shows -120 relegation odds while Empoli is at -110. Empoli has scored just one goal in eight matches, which is an incredibly concerning sign. Verona only stayed in Serie A last season by winning a relegation playoff in a tiebreaker vs. Spezia. They’ve done a solid job holding their opponents to eight goals in eight matches and are priced at +200 odds to go down.

Frosinone will want to keep their current momentum going as the Serie A new boys are in eighth place. Still, the oddsmakers rate their chances to go straight back down at +225. Notably, they opened the season as the side most likely to be relegated.

Udinese are one of three teams without a win so far but they have managed to draw five times. They were in the top four picture in the first half of 2022-23 but their form has tailed off dramatically ever since. The Friulani are currently at +250 top-four odds.

Genoa has one of Serie A’s more exciting strikers, in Mateo Retegui. He’s scored three times so far as newly promoted Genoa are 2-2-4. Genoa are typically mainstays in Serie A but do sit at +450 relegation odds. Torino and Lecce round out the teams with shorter than +1000 relegation odds, at +600 and +800 respectively.
