The Allen vs Curtis Odds Have Him Favored To Exact Revenge

Brendan Allen and Chris Curtis fight in an important middleweight contest for UFC Fight Night’s main event. Our UFC predictions look at the chances of these top contenders.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

Revenge on Allen’s Mind

Allen, still only 28 years old, has not lost since 2021. He holds victories over Jacob Malkoun, Krzysztof Jotko, and Paul Craig. However, his most recent loss came to Curtis. He needs to turn that around and get his revenge this Saturday.

His second-round knockout was a devastating way to lose, and it stemmed from Curtis avoiding getting taken down. Allen has looked much better with his UFC schedule since, so he’s the clear favorite per the Allen vs Curtis odds. He can win this rematch three years in the making.

After getting his fight against Marvin Vettori canceled, Allen will gladly accept an “easier” opponent. He used his submission game to beat Bruno Silva and Craig last year. He only needs to get Curtis to the ground. That’s easier said than done. But he’s the younger fighter and they have excellent records in the UFC.

Age No Barrier for Curtis

Curtis keeps performing well despite being 36 years old and the +170 underdog per UFC odds. He is coming off a decision win over Barriault in January, and having fought in 2024 should help his cause. Allen owns a 31-10 record, so he’s not lacking experience. But Curtis also packs a punch and he’ll look to put Allen on his backside inside the octagon.

At UFC 297 against Marc-Andre Barriault, Curtis didn’t win by knockout. But he landed 140 significant strikes from 258 attempts and that’s a big work rate for someone of his size.

He could make his odds look silly if he adopts similar tactics against Allen. Curtis needs to avoid getting taken down and submitted. So he’s a live chance to cause an upset in the main event.

However, should he get taken down, it’s all but over for him. There’s no getting back up from Allen’s grasp. So this fight will come down to this moment.

A Defining Fight for Allen

If Brendan Allen doesn’t beat Curtis for the second time, it could spell an end to any chance of getting a middleweight title fight.

The 23-5 fighter bounced back from that defeat in fine style. But another loss to Curtis would be massively detrimental for his title chances.

If he gets Curtis to the ground, he wins. He should have studied hard on how to achieve this goal, so we’re taking him to win outright at -210 per the Allen vs Curtis odds. It’s a fair price for someone of his ability, and although Curtis is a quality puncher, we like the revenge angle for Allen.

The five-round fight has a line of 2.5 rounds, which is interesting. The sportsbook believes it will either be an early submission or a knockout. We’re taking over 2.5 rounds at -170. It has been the best-backed to cash, and Allen has no problem slugging it out deep into the fight.
