Detroit Lions vs Vikings Highlights
It’s an NFC North matchup between the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings for Week 14. Both these teams are effectively playing catch-up in this division, chasing after the Green Bay Packers for a division title. If you bet on NFL games, read on to see how the oddsmakers are projecting this one.
The Vikings did not have a spectacular off-season, but the team is in a rare state of consistency after avoiding major turmoil. They are still confident with Cousins at quarterback, and Thielen, Jefferson, and Cook remain top offensive weapons. O’Connell and Adofo-Mensah were brought in as head coach and general manager, respectively, with the hope that they could pull the Vikings out of their malaise and make a run at the division title.
The Lions have been unsuccessful for too long. While it’s true that Stafford, Johnson, and Sanders all contributed to a more upbeat mood in Motor City, their heydays have long since passed, and the postseason remains a pipe dream. Attempts have been made by Head Coach Dan Campbell to alter this. By adopting a more aggressive and combative attitude, Campbell is hoping his team will no longer be seen as the whipping boys of the NFC North.
The Vikings lead the series 79-40-2 heading into 2022, but they lost a close game to the Lions last December (29-27), so there is some potential for this to go either way.
How will the NFL betting odds see this one? While the Lions have cause for optimism and certainly seem a fun fiery team this year, the Vikings still have the better talent and are a more playoff-ready team. We are backing the Vikings to take this one and chalk up a road win.
