Vikings vs Saints Highlights
It’s Week 4, and we are in London for the first of 3 international games. The Vikings return to the capital for the first time since 2017, where they made light work of the Cleveland Browns in a 33-17 victory. Meanwhile, the Saints tell a similar story, with Drew Brees throwing 2 TDs in a 20-0 victory at Wembley Stadium. Only one will emerge victorious this year.
Minnesota Vikings VS New Orleans Saints brought us the Minneapolis Miracle in 2018, and now the two teams return to lock horns in a Week 4 matchup that will leave those wanting to bet on NFL games not knowing which way to play. This week’s opponents had opposing seasons in 2021, with the Vikings and Kirk Cousins proving productive on offense but lacking the much-needed stability in defense to see a result through. Conversely, the Saints couldn’t replicate their previous year’s success on offense, even with Alvin Kamara in the backfield, but nonetheless were a force to be reckoned with on defense. They were, statistically, the 7th best over the course of the regular season.
The Vikings dominate the series 23-13, but recent seasons have provided a mixed bag of results with honors even over the last 6 meetings. The Saints will no doubt be relieved to see Michael Thomas return to camp in the preseason. They can also turn to new acquisition Jarvis Landry, using him to fill the gap left by Thomas should he see a recurrence of his previous season’s injury woes.
NFL betting odds might well account for the extra travel for both teams in crossing the Atlantic and the lack of traditional home crows. What is certain is that the reception for both teams at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be a welcoming one.
