Aris Limassol, founded in 1930, were one of the original members of the Cyprus Football Association. They participated in the first five seasons of the First Division in Cyprus, but financial difficulties forced the club to fold in 1939.

In 1952, Aris returned and competed in the Second Division. They returned to the First Division in 1954, but came in last place and promptly went back down. The following season, they won the Second Division and returned to the top flight. However, they were immediately relegated once again. That changed in 2006-07, when they finished in eighth place in the First Division to stay in the league. However, the trend continued when they were relegated the next season. They finally managed to remain in the First Division again after the 2015-16 season, when they came in 10th place.

That season, Aris relied on Cypriot players and were the only team to play 6 or more Cypriot players in each game. After three seasons in the top flight, Aris went back down to the second tier, where they spent three more seasons.

First Major Trophies

Finally, they earned promotion back to the First Division at the conclusion of the 2020-21 season. In Summer 2021, Russian investor Vladimir Fedorov bought the club with the goal of transforming Aris into one of the best Cypriot clubs.
