UFC Fight Night - July 15
Our UFC Fight Night event features Holly Holm, the former women’s bantamweight champion, clashing with the rising star Mayra Bueno Silva. Here’s the lowdown you need for betting:
Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm
Holly Holm, ranking at No. 3, is geared up to claim victory. She’s no stranger to the limelight, bagging three wins in her last four matches. With another win tonight, she might just get a shot at the recently vacated title.
Holm (15-6) is still a key figure in the women’s division, thanks to her historic upset against Ronda Rousey back in 2015. Despite some losses along the way, she has remained a fan favorite.
A seasoned gladiator, 41-year-old Holly Holm is no stranger to the Octagon. Standing tall at 5’8″, with a reach of 69″, this former UFC women’s bantamweight champion from the renowned Jackson-Wink MMA camp in New Mexico knows how to pack a punch. And let’s not forget, she’s a southpaw and a kickboxing expert!
Holm’s last bout saw her snatch a victory over Yana Santos via decision on March 25, 2023. And even though she’s been in the game for over two decades, her skills are still razor-sharp. A tactical striker, she’s got good footwork and distance management, not to mention a cracking cross punch.
And if that doesn’t impress you, maybe her boxing record will – an incredible 33 wins, 2 losses, and 3 draws. Add to that, 6 knockout victories, and 5 second-round finishes. With that kind of resume, it’s no surprise she’s a crowd favorite.
Mayra “Sheetara” Bueno Silva
On the other side of the ring, we have the 31-year-old dynamo Mayra Bueno Silva. Coming from American Top Team in Florida, Silva is a force to be reckoned with. She may be shorter at 5’6″ with a 66.5″ reach, but underestimate her at your own risk!
Silva stormed her last fight with a submission win over Lina Lansberg on February 18, 2023. A Brazilian jiu-jitsu brown belt, Silva is equally adept at orthodox and Muay Thai striking. Her aggressive style, coupled with heavy hands, creates a formidable arsenal of attacks that have earned her 1 knockout and 7 submission victories.
Silva is also a powerhouse in the clinch, known for her slicing elbows and hard knees. And she’s not just about the offense – her risk management is pretty solid, too!
On the flip side, Mayra Bueno Silva stands at No. 10. She’s basically on fire, folks! If she seals the deal tonight, she might just make it into the top five, opening the door to potential title shots.
Bueno Silva (10-2-1) is a star on the rise. Known for her grappling skills, she’s steadily faced top competition since joining UFC in 2018. She’s on a three-win streak, so we’ll see if she can keep the momentum going.
How To Bet on UFC Fight Night 283
In terms of UFC odds, Holm’s are -150 while Silva stands at +120. Either fighter presents a worthwhile choice. The round over/under is fixed at 4.5, with the ‘over’ being favored at -200. This indicates that betting authorities anticipate the fight will not end prematurely.
The fight also offers an array of appealing prop bets. For instance, the fight concluding in TKO/KO or submission is at +140, and the prospect of the fight running its full course is at -190. Both sides of these prop bets carry reasonable value.
Considering everything from the money line to prop bets, the fight’s outcome appears to be evenly matched. It’s a UFC Fight between an experienced, calculated fighter like Holm, who tends not to take many risks, and a younger, more aggressive grappler like Silva.
Apart from the fight records and stats, Holm’s age remains a notable variable to ponder. At 41, how much competitive vigor does she still retain? Is her age a potential barrier to competing at an optimum level?
However, fight dynamics could shift, warranting continuous monitoring and reevaluation of your betting choices.
Co-Main Event: Park vs Duraev
The co-main event isn’t lacking in sparks either. Jun Yong Park (-155) is all set to face off against Albert Duraev (+135) in a clash of the titans. Both are exciting middleweight prospects with explosive abilities.
