Champions League: AC Milan vs PSG Preview & Odds

Must Win for AC Milan

PSG in Driver’s Seat in Group F

Paris Saint-Germain have hit their stride, with a five-game winning streak, in all competitions. They’ll head on the road to AC Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday with the Rossoneri struggling. Stefano Pioli’s Milan are winless in their last four matches, in all competitions, and fell to Udinese on Saturday. AC Milan, who are winless in the UCL so far, will feel that Tuesday’s match is a must-win. We’ll take a look at the soccer odds to grab all three points in our AC Milan vs PSG preview.

MIL AC Milan vs PSG PSG

Day/Time:
Location: Stadio San Siro, Milan, Italy

Head-to-Head:

AC Milan vs PSG previews note that they’ve met five previous times in the UEFA Champions League. A few weeks ago, Paris Saint-Germain, as -130 moneyline favorites, got their first-ever win over Milan in the UCL. PSG came away with a 3-0 result as Kylian Mbappe, Randal Kolo Muani, and Lee Kang-in got on the scoresheet. Before that, these teams last met in 2001 and AC Milan had a 2-2-1 record vs. PSG in the UCL all-time.

AC Milan Sputtering

It’s been a rough few weeks for AC Milan, who last won a match on October 7th. On Saturday, AC Milan failed to score at home in a Serie A match vs. Udinese, who were in the relegation zone before the match. Udinese won a second half penalty and came away from Milan with their first win of the season. In the previous match, Milan blew a two-goal lead to Napoli and got a 2-2 draw vs. the Partenopei.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

Through three Champions League matches AC Milan has failed to score a goal and is 0-2-1. That makes Tuesday’s match a must-win for the Rossoneri. Milan doesn’t have too many game-changers on their roster but Rafael Leao is perhaps the best example of one. The left winger is a right back’s nightmare and combines pace, power, and skill. He’s scored three goals and provided three assists in Serie A this season. Olivier Giroud is Milan’s leading scorer, with six goals and Christian Pulisic has scored four times and provided three assists.

A number of Milan regulars are out injured here, which adds to Stefano Pioli’s woes. Rade Krunic, Pierre Kalulu, Simon Kjaer, and Ismael Bennacer all figure to miss out on Tuesday. Milan’s effort in their 3-0 loss vs. PSG was poor and they’re at risk of a third straight home loss here.

PSG Firing on All Cylinders

A 4-1 loss to Newcastle last month appears to have lit a fire under Paris Saint-Germain. They’ve now won five straight matches and have outscored their opponents 15-3 in the process. The PSG standings, after a slow start to the season, now show that the Parisians are in second place in Ligue 1. They’re also in first place in Champions League Group F which is, by almost all accounts, the most difficult group in the competition.

On Friday, PSG got a comfortable 3-0 win over Montpellier in Ligue 1 as Achraf Hakimi provided a pair of assists. Lee Kang-in, Warren Zaire-Emery, and Vitinha got on the scoresheet. Zaire-Emery is only 17 years old but he’s emerged as a key player for PSG and is one of the brightest young talents in world football.

AC Milan vs PSG previews note that Zaire-Emery leads the UCL, with three assists through three games. He’s scored in back-to-back Ligue 1 matches as well. Of course, Kylian Mbappe is PSG’s main man and he’s scored 10 goals in Ligue 1 and two in the UCL so far. Luis Enrique has a bunch of talented attackers to call on, with Ousmane Dembele, Goncalo Ramos, Kolo Muani, and the emerging Kang-in. Nuno Mendes, Danilo Pereira and Marco Asensio are all out for PSG on Tuesday.

Match Analysis & Odds

AC Milan, who made last season’s Champions League semifinal, are at serious risk of elimination if they lose this match. The Champions League odds price PSG as +115 road favorites for this one. All the momentum is with the Parisians in this one and they can stay on top of the group with a win. Milan’s form is highly concerning and it remains to be seen how they’ll perform with their backs against the wall here.

The Rossoneri are +215 underdogs and have lost their last two home matches by a 1-0 scoreline. Here, under 2.5, 3 goals sit at -120 odds but PSG have scored three times in each of their last three games. Milan’s defense had an incredibly hard time dealing with Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele on the wings last time out. With Pierre Kalulu out, Alessandro Florenzi could start at fullback on Tuesday.

A draw won’t be cause for celebration for Milan but is certainly better than nothing. Here, one displays +260 odds and it’ll keep PSG in the top two of the group. Bettors can also take AC Milan pk, +0.5 at -110 odds, and PSG pk, -0.5 at the same odds.
