Head-to-Head:

The last match between Arsenal and Manchester United at the Emirates was an instant classic. Eddie Nketiah scored twice, and his flicked 90th-minute winner gave the Gunners a crucial 3-2 win in the title race. Recent matches between Arsenal and Manchester United on the EPL schedule have been high-scoring. The home team won the last four matches and finished with four or more goals.

Arsenal Not at Their Best

Arsenal are yet to put in an excellent performance from start to finish this season, and fans will undoubtedly be hoping it comes in this rivalry match. In Arsenal’s last match, they fell behind vs. Fulham as Bukayo Saka made an errant pass that Andreas Pereira pounced on. Pereira caught Aaron Ramsdale off his line and gave Fulham a 1-0 lead inside a minute. It took Arsenal over an hour to equalize as substitute midfielder Fabio Vieira won a penalty.

Saka converted the penalty, and Eddie Nketiah gave Arsenal a lead just a few minutes later. When Fulham defender Calvin Bassey got a second yellow card with under 10 minutes to play in normal time, it certainly looked like Arsenal would grab a win. However, Fulham’s Joao Palhinha scored an equalizer off a corner, and Adama Traore even had a late chance to grab all three points for the Cottagers. Arsenal were disappointed with the result, and fans are beginning to grow impatient with big money signing Kai Havertz already. He hasn’t imposed himself on games yet, and it remains to be seen if Mikel Arteta will replace him in the starting lineup.

Arteta did get a double injury boost as both Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus are nearing full fitness. He’ll also get Takehiro Tomiyasu back from a suspension in time for this one. Interestingly, Arteta is yet to start Gabriel Magalhaes, who was a mainstay in the back line last season.

There has been some speculation about Gabriel moving to Saudi Arabia, but signs point to the club not selling him before Friday’s transfer deadline. Although Arsenal haven’t been at their best, they’re still 2-1-0 and in fifth place in the EPL standings.

United in Midst of Injury Crisis

Manchester United’s last match started off in a worrying fashion. Taiwo Awoniyi outpaced United’s backline and finished past Andre Onana in the second minute. Willy Boly doubled Nottingham Forest’s lead on a head just two minutes later. United didn’t fold, and Marcus Rashford sent in a low cross that Christian Eriksen finished off in the 17th minute.

Rashford was also involved in United’s equalizer when he sent a cross that Bruno Fernandes headed to Casemiro, who finished into an empty net. United would go on to get a winner as Rashford won a penalty and Bruno Fernandes converted. Rashford caused all sorts of problems on the left side and scored three times vs. Arsenal in two games last season.

The England international also led Manchester United’s EPL stats last season with 17 goals. Still, the Arsenal vs Manchester United odds price United as underdogs for this match as they’re missing three key players. It looks like Victor Lindelof will replace Raphael Varane in the heart of defense for this one.

Match Analysis & Odds

The expectations are high enough for Arsenal now that two wins and a draw have seemed underwhelming. They’re playing at home vs. one of their biggest rivals, and the atmosphere should be excellent. Currently, the Arsenal vs Manchester United odds list the Gunners as both -130 ATS and moneyline favorites. They’ve won their last four matches vs. Manchester United at the Emirates and scored at least twice in each game.

Meanwhile, Man United +0.5 shows +110 odds as the shorthanded Red Devils look to get a road result. Marcus Rashford is United’s main danger man, and whoever starts at right back for Arsenal will have their hands full. Thomas Partey has played at right back over the last few matches, but Mikel Arteta could opt to put Ben White there and start Gabriel and William Saliba in the center to shore up the defense.

One of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu are expected to line up on the left, and Partey could be pushed up to midfield. United come in as +310 underdogs, and a draw displays +300 odds. United have managed two wins and a loss so far but lost their only road match to Arsenal’s North London rivals Tottenham. Here, both over and under-three goals are priced at -110.
