Wide-Open Market for 2023 Evian Championship

Women’s Golf Major

The 2023 Evian Championship is one of the biggest golf tournaments during the calendar year.

The women’s golf schedule has five majors, including the Evian Championship, so we expect nothing short of quality golf this week.

Golf odds have Hyo Joo Kim favored at +1400, but it’s a wide-open tournament.

In Ko We Trust

Lydia Ko has had a rough time of it on the golf course, but we’re sticking with the New Zealand superstar.

Since getting married, her results have been poor. She even got penalized seven strokes in her most recent tournament for mistaking the clean-and-place rules, but she took it in her stride.

“I completely own my mistake, and while it is frustrating, the seven-stroke penalty I received was justified as I incorrectly played preferred lies on holes I was not meant to,” Ko said.

The 2023 Evian Championship gives the Kiwi a chance to reset and play her best golf, which is world-class. The former world number one looked good earlier this year, so she’s not far off producing her best.

Bettors get +4000, which is too good to pass up. We remember the days when Ko would have been paying around +700 to win a major, so based on that theory, the odds are there to be snapped up.

Zhang to Bounce Back

There was a lot of pressure on Rose Zhang at the Greater Toledo Open, and although she succumbed to the pressure by missing the cut, she can’t be dropped just yet.

The rising star of the LPGA finished T9 at the U.S. Open before that, so anything similar to that performance would be enough to see her contest at the 2023 Evian Championship.

She will be keen to bounce back from her first missed cut as a professional, and she had some excuses.

“I had a nine-hour delay going from Phoenix, connecting flight to here. To Detroit actually. So it was a bit of a travel mess. I came in Tuesday morning at 3 a.m., so the practice rounds and the pro-am were a little bit shaky for me. I’m glad that I played a solid round, and hopefully, I can rest a little bit more,” Zhang said.

Much like Ko, Zhang is paying generous odds. The sportsbook has her at +1800, and compared to her recent odds, that’s a great price.

Lee Inspiring the Family

Minjee Lee, sister to Min Woo Lee, should be inspired to play well after her brother’s impressive showing at the majors.

However, Minjee has many more wins on the board, so she is the golfer at the top of the Lee family tree.

The Australian won the 2021 Evian Championship, so she loves the tournament, and there’s no reason why she can’t return two years later to win again.

The 27-year-old finished T7 at the Toledo Classic, so he’s in-form, and the +2000 odds are another generous price.

Taking Ko, Zhang and Lee is a great way to cash when betting on the 2023 Evian Championship.
