Real Betis Pull off Midweek Comeback

Real Betis very nearly lost Wednesday’s Copa del Rey second round match vs. fourth-tier side Villanovense. Trailing 1-0 in the 89th minute, Abde Ezzalzouli managed to equalize and Borja Iglesias gave Betis the win in stoppage time. Betis have another important cup match next Thursday when they take on Rangers in the Europa League. They may need a result to go through, depending on Sparta Prague’s result vs. Aris Limassol.

First, Betis will focus their attention on Saturday’s match vs. Real Madrid. At present, the Real Betis vs Real Madrid soccer lines list Betis as +310 underdogs. Only Barcelona, Real Madrid and Girona have fewer losses than Betis this season, though. Bettors should also take note that the goals haven’t exactly been pouring in this season for the Seville-based side. They’ve scored 18 times in 15 games and have found the net just five times in their last five.

Willian Jose has scored one third of Betis’s goals this season, while Isco and Ayoze Perez have also had their moments. Like Real Madrid, Betis have a bunch of players out, including suspended right back Hector Bellerin. Nabil Fekir, William Carvalho, Claudio Bravo, Youssouf Sabaly and Marc Bartra are all out injured. Meanwhile, midfielder Rodri Sanchez is doubtful.

Real Madrid Clear Title Favorites

Last Saturday, Real Madrid got a comfortable 2-0 win over Granada at the Santiago Bernabeu. Brahim Diaz continued his recent run of good form, by scoring the opener. Rodrygo also scored for a fifth straight match to put the match out of reach for Granada. Real didn’t concede a single shot on target in the match as they stayed on top of the La Liga table.

A bunch of La Liga predictions have Real Madrid winning the title. Currently, they’re -225 favorites to win the league for the second time in the last three seasons. Injuries have certainly taken their toll on Carlo Ancelotti’s side but Los Blancos have quite a deep roster. Third-string keeper Andriy Lunin has kept two shutouts in three matches while Kepa Arrizabalaga and Thibaut Courtois have been injured. Kepa was on the matchday roster last weekend and it’s up to Ancelotti whether he’ll stick with Lunin here.

Vinicius Junior is a key absence for Real Madrid but Diaz has played well as of late. Rodrygo has also scored seven goals in his last five matches, in all competitions, and Real have averaged 3.4 goals per game during that time. Dani Carvajal, Eduardo Camavinga, Arda Guler, Aurelien Tchouameni and Eder Militao are also out injured for Real Madrid here.

Match Analysis & Odds

Despite Real Betis’s 10-game unbeaten streak, it should come as no surprise that the Real Betis vs Real Madrid soccer lines list the visitors as favorites for this one. Real Madrid come in at -120 ATS and moneyline odds. Even though Vini is out for Los Blancos, Rodrygo has picked up a lot of the slack lately. Plus, Jude Bellingham still leads La Liga, with 11 goals.

The La Liga Betting lines price Betis as +310 underdogs and Betis +0.5 sits at even odds. A draw displays +295 odds and that’s been quite a common result in this fixture. It would also preserve both teams’ long La Liga unbeaten runs. For the most part, this is an experienced Betis team and this is undoubtedly a match that’s been circled on their calendar for quite some time.

Generally, this has been quite a low-scoring fixture and under 2.5, 3 goals are priced at -115 odds for this one. Betis haven’t conceded more than one goal in a La Liga match since September but Los Blancos have been scoring in bunches lately.
