Marking 150 years in 2022, Rangers were founded in 1872 at Glasgow’s West End Park. Rangers reached the Scottish Cup final for the first time in 1877. Their rivalry versus Glasgow-based Celtic dates back to 1888. The first title in the Rangers FC stats was a joint-Scottish League win in 1891.
Rangers FC won the Scottish Cup for the first time in 1894 and won again in 1897 and 1898. They kicked off the 1900s with three consecutive Scottish League trophies and established themselves as the most successful Scottish soccer club.
Bill Struth is the most successful manager in Rangers history and was at the helm from 1920 to 1954. During his long tenure, the club won 18 league titles, 10 Scottish Cups and two League Cups. After Struth stepped down, Rangers found moderate success in European competitions.
