Ligue 1: PSG vs Nice Odds

Two Unbeaten Teams Face Off

PSG Reinforce Team With Late Signings

After drawing their first two matches, Paris Saint-Germain have managed two straight wins and look formidable. PSG made some key signings just before the transfer deadline and will undoubtedly challenge for a third-straight title this season. The Parisians hosted Nice this weekend at the Parc des Princes as PSG went for three wins in a row. We’ll preview the PSG vs Nice odds in a match between two unbeaten Ligue 1 teams.

PSG PSG vs Nice NIC

Date & Time:
Location: Parc des Princes, Paris, France

Head-to-Head:

PSG won both of their Ligue 1 matches vs. Nice last season. Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe scored in Paris as the Parisians won 2-1. Messi also found the net in the reverse fixture as PSG won 2-0. In all competitions, five of the last six matches between these teams have finished in a draw or been decided by a one-goal margin.

Mbappe on Fire for PSG

Paris Saint-Germain’s good form has directly coincided with Kylian Mbappe’s first two starts of the season. After a standoff with club officials, he was welcomed back into the fold last month. Mbappe has managed to score five goals in just 220 minutes of play this season. He figures to be one of the Ligue 1 top scorers once again and has won the Golden Boot four seasons in a row.

Mbappe should benefit from playing with Ousmane Dembele and Randal Kolo Muani also his teammates on the French national team. Muani had an ankle issue and missed PSG’s last match before the international break. However, the former Eintracht Frankfurt man could make his debut here, especially with Marco Asensio out. Kolo Muani led the Bundesliga with 26 goal contributions last season and will add another dimension to PSG’s attack.

In their last match, PSG defeated Lyon 4-1 and led 4-0 at halftime. Mbappe found the net twice in the match as Achraf Hakimi and Asensio also got on the scoresheet. Mbappe scored twice in the previous 3-1 win over Lens, and Asensio added the third. Here, the PSG vs Nice odds price the hosts as -210 favorites.

Nice Solid on Defense

OGC Nice drew their first three matches of the 2023-24 Ligue 1 season. They took leads in their matches vs. Lille and Lorient, but both sides equalized before the final whistle. The side from the French Riviera picked up their first clean sheet of the season in a scoreless draw vs. Lyon. Nice finally picked up their first win of the season when they defeated Strasbourg 2-0 just before the international break.

Youcef Atal opened up the scoring with a brilliant curling left-footed strike. Terem Moffi doubled the lead in the second half to get Nice up and running for the season. So far, they’ve conceded just two goals in four matches, which is the fewest in the league. Nice also conceded the second-fewest goals in Ligue 1 last season and has a solid center-back pairing of Jean-Clair Todibo and Dante.

Moffi was one of the better Ligue 1 players last season, scoring 18 goals for Lorient and Nice. After his loan spell, Nice brought him back on a permanent transfer this Summer. He and Jeremie Boga were Nice’s centerpiece signings of the Summer, but Boga has only played a marginal role so far.

Match Analysis & Odds

Nice have played Paris Saint-Germain close recently and have lost just two of the last five meetings in all competitions. None of the last seven head-to-head matchups have finished with four or more goals, but the PSG vs Nice odds list the over/under goal total as 3.5. Under 3.5 goals come in at -170 odds, as none of Nice’s matches this season have scored three or more goals.

Still, PSG can devastate their opponents with their speed in attacking areas. It’s hard to bet against Kylian Mbappe scoring a goal, given the form he’s been in. PSG -1, -1.5 shows +105 odds as the hosts are also -210 favorites. Nice is still unbeaten this season, so it’s not a huge surprise that Nice +1, +1.5 displays -135 odds.

The visitors are +495 moneyline underdogs and haven’t won on the road at PSG since 2009. It’d be a great result for Nice if they’re able to come away with a point, and a draw is priced at +380 odds.
