The Atlanta Braves (87-45) continue their 10 games in a 10-day road trip with a trip to Los Angeles in what is a likely postseason MLB matchup. Atlanta has won four of their first five games of the road trip with one game left against the Rockies, Wednesday. They’ll send ace Spencer Strider (15-4, 3.46) to the hill to face Julio Urias (11-7, 4.41) for the Dodgers (83-49). We have seen some sites list Lance Lynn as the LA starter, make sure to confirm before placing your wagers. When the number comes out we think this will provide one of the best MLB bets today. Strider Has Been On Fire
Since being embarrassed by the Pittsburgh Pirates on August 7th ( 6 earned runs in 2 â…” innings), Spencer Strider has been virtually unhittable. Since that start, Strider has allowed just one earned run in 21 innings against the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants twice. In that span, the 24-year-old has allowed just seven hits while striking out 25 with just six walks.
The Braves have won all three games by a combined score of 15-1. It looks like it’s going to be the fifth winning season in six seasons for bettors with Atlanta up 542 units this season. Since 2018, Atlanta has handed $100 bettors 3,763 units of profit.
Only the Seattle Mariners (+4757) and Tampa Bay Rays (+4683 units) are better in that span. Despite this being one of the best series on the baseball schedule to date, the Braves are clearly the best MLB team. Dodgers Still Have Chance for Home Field
Both of these clubs will easily win their division, but the best overall record in the National League is still in doubt. A Los Angeles sweep could bring the Dodgers even with the Braves, ahead, or within a game depending on what happens Wednesday night in the National League baseball standings.
We’re not 100% sure who is getting the ball for the Dodgers, so let’s give you numbers for each. The Dodgers are an incredible 59-23 since 2021 when Julio Urias gets the start (+872 units). No other pitcher on the Los Angeles staff has been more reliable to bettors than Urias who has won 316 units more than Max Scherzer (+556 units) although LA was a perfect 11-0 behind Scherzer.
Massive moneylines prevented $100 bets from returning much. Only once in Urias’ last 82 games has he been an underdog. Lance Lynn, a deadline pickup, has led bettors to five straight winners. We’ve been doing this long enough to know two things. One, when two great pitchers go head to head, the betting public is almost always on the under. The second, that seems to never work.
