The San Francisco Giants remain firmly in the National League playoff race. At 46-38, the Giants are third in the NL West, 3.5 games behind the first-place Diamondbacks. But they currently own the third and final Wild Card spot. Oddsmakers have priced them at -200 to make the playoffs.

The Giants are just 4-6 over their last 10 games. They’re coming off back-to-back series losses on the road to the Blue Jays and Mets. The Giants have gotten solid contributions across the board, with a depth of talent that includes second baseman Thairo Estrada (.761 OPS), third baseman J.D. Woo, owns a 4.37 ERA over his first five starts since being called up from Double-A Arkansas. The 23-year-old right-hander has displayed swing-and-miss stuff, with 32 strikeouts in 22.1 innings. He was Seattle’s Minor League Pitcher of the Month for May.

Gilbert has been fairly steady atop the Mariners’ rotation. He’s a key reason why they rank second in baseball with 41 quality starts. The 26-year-old right-hander is 5-5 with a 4.19 ERA and has struck out 93 in 92.1 innings. He’s gone at least six innings in seven of his previous 11 starts.
