Milwaukee continues to lead the National League Central, but this may be the part of the schedule the Brew Crew circle if they relinquish their lead. The Brewers dropped a three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers and now have to brush themselves off with a trip against the Rangers who are just as dangerous as Los Angeles. They’ll wash this stretch down with two games against the first-place Minnesota Twins.
The good news for Milwaukee is they’re being chased by the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds who are mediocre at best. Looking at our current MLB power rankings the Brewers are 16th in baseball, not surprising considering their run differential is -4. Brandon Woodruff is making his third start after coming off the IL, allowing four earned runs in his 11 ⅓ innings back.
Overall, Milwaukee is 3-1 when Woodruff starts in 2023, but if we go back a season, Milwaukee is a combined 22-9 overall when the 2-time all-star starts. Rangers Looking to Turn First Profit in Three Seasons
It’s been a long road for bettors when backing the Texas Rangers. From 2020-2022, only the Arizona Diamondbacks (-4789 units) and Washington Nationals (-4543) have been a worse bet than the Rangers (-4510). As a favorite, Texas was just 39-56 (-2694 units) in that span. That’s all about to change with this season’s edition of the Rangers who are +208 as a favorite (53-31).
That’s saying something because as you can see, Texas has won 63% of their games as a favorite in 2023, but is just barely in the black because the moneylines have shown Texas so much respect. The Rangers MLB schedule is only slightly easier than Milwaukee’s with road series against the Arizona Diamondbacks and Minnesota Twins on deck. Andrew Heaney has been terrific of late, allowing just one earned run in his last 13 innings.

Watching both Woodruff and Heaney in their last few starts, we feel extremely confident that we’re looking at a low-scoring game one. With money trickling in on the over, we expect the public to continue their early pattern, making our wager more attractive by the hour.
The Rangers scored 21 runs against the Los Angeles Angels this week, but the focus should be on allowing just three. It’s been 12 days since the Rangers gave up more than three runs and we can’t see that streak ending against Milwaukee, who are kicking this series off a day after ending a measuring stick series against the Dodgers.
