No Question: Rangers vs Rockies Betting Should Be On Texas
Three-Game Interleague Series Should be Mismatch
Rangers vs Rockies Betting Preview: The Texas Rangers try to stay hot as they take on the Colorado Rockies in a three-game weekend Interleague series that begins on Friday night.
Texas is wrapping up a 10-game road trip with this series, while Colorado is in the middle of a six-game homestand.
The Rangers have come out on top of most of the baseball scores on their trip thus far, winning five of the first seven contests.
Texas has moved to the top of the AL West standings, leading the second-place Seattle Mariners by 1.5 games entering Friday’s action.
Colorado has struggled throughout this season, though it does come into this series off a win on Thursday. That win, snapping a four-game losing skid, didn’t help the Rockies out of the NL West basement, however, as they trail the fourth-place San Francisco Giants by seven games.
Not surprisingly, the Rangers are favored to come out on top in the series opener on Friday, getting -185 odds on the moneyline, compared to the Rockies at +165.
If you prefer to make your MLB game predictions using the run line, you can get Colorado at even odds when it gets 1.5 runs, while Texas is still favored when giving those runs, getting -120 odds. The over/under for the contest is set at 10, with the under getting -125 odds and the over -105.
The series will begin with an 8:40 p.m. ET contest on Friday, followed by an 8:10 p.m. start on Saturday. Sunday’s series finale is scheduled for a 3:10 p.m. ET first pitch. Let’s check out the rest of our Rangers vs Rockies betting preview.

Day/Time:
Location: Coors Field, Denver, Colorado
Pitching Matchups
Game 1
The Rangers will send right-hander Jon Gray to the mound to start this series. Gray is 1-1 with a 2.50 ERA in eight appearances (seven starts) in 2024, striking out 42 in 39.2 innings.
He took a no-decision in his last start against the Kansas City Royals last Sunday, going seven innings and allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out seven and walking none.
Lefty Austin Gomber will get the start for Colorado, as he looks for his first win of the campaign. The 30-year-old is 0-2 with a 3.79 ERA and was a hard-luck loser in his last outing.
Against the Pittsburgh Pirates last Saturday, Gomber threw six shutout innings, allowing just four hits while striking out three and walking two, but the Rockies didn’t score a run in a 1-0 setback.
Game 2
Another pitcher looking for his first win of the MLB season will be on the mound on Saturday for Texas, as Andrew Heaney brings an 0-4 record and 4.50 ERA to his eighth start of 2024.
Heaney has 31 strikeouts in 36 innings of work. He’s allowed just one earned run in each of his last two starts, including going six innings against the Oakland Athletics on Monday, giving up two runs (one earned) on seven hits while striking out five.
Struggling right-hander Ryan Feltner will get the call for Colorado on Saturday. Feltner is 1-3 with a 5.54 ERA and has allowed at least three earned runs in each of his last four starts.
He struggled in a loss to the Pirates on Sunday, going 5.2 innings and giving up five runs on eight hits while striking out three.
Game 3
Texas isn’t sure about its starter for Sunday because its list of starting pitchers on the MLB injured list continued to grow on Wednesday with Dale Dunning joining Nathan Eovaldi, Max Scherzer, Jacob deGrom, Cody Bradford and Tyler Mahle.
The team has prospects Jack Leiter and Owen White on the roster currently, so either is an option, as is reliever Jose Urena, who started on Tuesday against Oakland.
Yet another pitcher without a win this season will go for the Rockies on Sunday, with righty Dakota Hudson making his eighth start of the campaign.
Hudson is 0-5 with a 6.35 ERA, striking out 20 in 34 innings of work. He’s coming off a loss to the Giants on Tuesday, going 3.2 innings and allowing four runs on five hits while striking out two and walking five.
Rangers Bats Should Enjoy Mile High
Opposing offenses usually heat up when they play at Coors Field, and this weekend should be no exception for the Rangers, who are hot everywhere they play.
Texas ranks second in the majors in runs this season with 199 and is fourth in baseball with a .258 batting average.
When people talk about MLB MVP odds, Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia is one of the names that is discussed, and with good reason. Garcia is batting .268 this season, with eight doubles, eight home runs, 30 RBI and 20 runs scored.
He had an RBI double in the nightcap of Wednesday’s doubleheader split with the Athletics, though he also struck out three times. He has 42 strikeouts on the season, including nine over his last five games.
The best MLB player in the Colorado lineup this season has been third baseman Ryan McMahon, who is batting a team-best .292. McMahon also has eight doubles, five home runs, 20 RBI and 14 runs scored for a team that is 26th in baseball in scoring. McMahon has been slumping a bit of late, going 5-for-28 at the plate in eight games in May.
Rangers Roll To Series Win
There is no question how your Rangers vs Rockies betting should go, as Texas should dominate this series. Even without much of its starting rotation, Texas is a much better baseball team than Colorado, and its offense should really get going in this one.
The Rockies are in the middle of what is going to be a very long season, struggling just to stay in MLB games. That will be the theme of this weekend, as Texas wins at least two out of three, if not sweeps the series.
